Maude Miller<br />

Mrs. Maude MILLER, 75, Denver, died at 6 a.m. today in her home. She had been ill<br />

eleven years. Born May 18, 1894, in Miami county, she was married Oct. 19, 1911, in Denver, to<br />

Aud MILLER, who died in 1966. She was a lifetime resident of the Denver community.<br />

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mable ROBERTSON, R.R. 1, Roann; Mrs. Warren<br />

(Helen) MYERS, Peru; and Mrs. Eugene (Hazel) LANE, Macy; three sons, Wayne MILLER,<br />

Macy, and Frank and Russell MILLER, both of R.R. 1, Roann; twenty-six grandchildren, and<br />

thirty-eight great-grandchildren. One son, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild preceded<br />

her in death. Final rites will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Niconza church two miles south of Disko.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. Frank HAYMAN will officiate. Burial will be in Plainview cemetery, Macy. Friends<br />

may call at the Sheetz funeral home, Akron, after 1:30 p.m. Friday, and until noon Saturday, and<br />

then at the church one hour before services.<br />

Ruth Leavell<br />

Mrs. Ruth LEAVELL, 76, <strong>Fulton</strong>, died Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Woodlawn hospital. She<br />

had been seriously ill one year.<br />

Born Sept. 18, 1893, in Cass county, she was the daughter of James A. and Henrietta<br />

MORRIS MARSH. Her marriage was June 4, 1911, in Cass county to Clyde M. LEAVELL, who<br />

died Aug. 17, 1966. She was a member of the <strong>Fulton</strong> Baptist temple.<br />

Surviving are five sons, Don LEAVELL, Twelve Mile; Robert LEAVELL, <strong>Fulton</strong>;<br />

Howard LEAVELL, Tiosa; James LEAVELL, Lakeville, and Paul LEAVELL, Logansport; three<br />

daughters, Mrs. John (Ann) WHITTENBERGER, Mrs. Virgil (Meriam) JOHNSON and Mrs.<br />

Patricia DITTMAN, all of <strong>Rochester</strong>; two sisters, Mrs. Donna EYTCHESON, <strong>Fulton</strong>, and Mrs.<br />

Pearl WAGONER, <strong>Rochester</strong>; twenty-six grandchildren, and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.<br />

Four brothers, one sister and one granddaughter preceded in death.<br />

Final rites will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Ditmire-Zimmerman funeral home, <strong>Fulton</strong>. <strong>The</strong><br />

Revs. Franklin ARTHUR and G. LeRoy MARSTELLER will officiate. Burial will be in the Ever-<br />

Rest Memorial cemetery east of Logansport, on U.S. 24. Friends may call at the funeral home<br />

after 2 p.m. Thursday.<br />

Robert R. Porter<br />

Robert R. PORTER, 44, Culver, was pronounced dead on arrival at Woodlawn hospital,<br />

Tuesday at 8:20 p.m., after he suddenly became ill at Sealed Power corporation, where he worked.<br />

Born Oct. 20, 1925, in Marshall county, he was the son of Robert and Elizabeth<br />

WOOLFRE PORTER. His marriage was March 26, 1944, in Hibbard, to Mary L. ALTHEIDE,<br />

who survives. A lifetime resident of Culver and a veteran of World War II, he was a member of<br />

the Emmanuel United Methodist church and the Maxinkuckee I.O.O.F. lodge.<br />

Surviving with the wife are two sons, Ronald PORTER, at home, and Terry L. PORTER,<br />

with the U.S. Navy at Lexington, Md.; one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Nancy) MISHLER, <strong>Rochester</strong>;<br />

his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth PORTER, Culver; and three sisters, Mrs. Eugenia BIDDLE, Dallas;<br />

Mrs. Clise (Marian) THORNBURG, Walkerton; and Mrs. James (Barbara) JONES, Culver.<br />

Final rites will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Easterday-Bonine funeral home, Culver. <strong>The</strong><br />

Rev. A. E. GIVENS will officiate. Burial will be in Culver Masonic cemetery. Friends may call<br />

at the funeral home after 12 noon Thursday.
