Ross Siple<br />

Final rites will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Grossman funeral home in Argos for Ross<br />

SIPLE, former Argos resident, who died Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. in a Tucson, Ariz. hospital.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. John Paul JONES will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Grove cemetery at<br />

Argos. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday.<br />

Born April 21, 1890, in Argos,he was the son of John and Malinda DEARDORF SIPLE.<br />

His marriage was April 23, 1914, in Plymouth to Blanche L. ZINK who survives. He had lived in<br />

Tucson, Ariz., moving from Argos and he was a retired farmer. He was a member of the St. James<br />

Methodist church, Tucson.<br />

Surviving with the wife are one son, Clair D. SIPLE, Bemidji, Minn.; two grandchildren,<br />

Larry and Kim [SIPLE], and one sister, Mrs. Mary TEMPLETON, Monticello.<br />

Saturday, February 7, <strong>1970</strong><br />

Mabel Stark<br />

Mabel STARK, 86, Akron, died Friday at 2 p.m. in the Woodlawn hospital.<br />

Born May 25, 1883, in Akron, she was the daughter of William and Mary SOUTHERLY<br />

KREIGHBAUM. Her marriage was Sept. 24, 1901, in Akron, to John E. STARK who died in<br />

1963. She had lived in the Akron area all her life and was a member of the Royal Neighbor<br />

Lodge.<br />

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Mary) MURPHY, Watersweet, Mich.; Mrs.<br />

Robert (Rosella) TRUMLEY and Mrs. Dale (Pearl) BREWER, both of South Bend; one son,<br />

Gardius [STARK], Akron; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Preceding her in<br />

death were one son, Patrick [STARK]; three sisters and one brother.<br />

[Also prededing in death was Marie STARK, nine year old youngest child of Mr. and<br />

Mrs. John Stark, who died Thursday, December 27, 1923, a victim of influenza.]<br />

Final rites will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Sheetz funeral home, Akron, with the Rev.<br />

Claude FAWNS officiating. Burial will be in the Akron cemetry. Friends may call at the funeral<br />

home after 1:30 p.m. Sunday.<br />

Ernest J. Sampson<br />

Ernest J. SAMPSON, 78, R.R. 2, <strong>Rochester</strong>, died Friday at 8:55 p.m. in Woodlawn<br />

hospital, where he had been a patient one week.<br />

Born April 8, 1891, in Alamo, Ind., he was the son of William and Florence GOODIN<br />

SAMPSON. His first marriage was to Helen CROY, who preceded in death. His second marriage<br />

was Oct. 15, 1950, to Elsie BRADLEY, who died Oct. 5, 1968.<br />

He had lived in the <strong>Rochester</strong> area 13 years, moving from Indianapolis, and was a retired<br />

tool and die maker and a former employee of the American Can Company, Indianapolis. He was a<br />

member of Grace United Methodist church and the Masonic lodge. He served in the U. S. Army<br />

during the Mexican Border war.<br />

Surviving are one step-son, Edward RAY, Indianapolis; two step-daughters, Mrs. Wayne<br />

(Virginia) LINNENS, Galeta, Cal, and Mrs. Woodford (Dorothy) SMITH, Indianapolis; ten<br />

grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Nellie STUMP and Mrs. Marie<br />

FAULKNER, both of Indianapolis; Mrs. Elnora HINKLE, R.R. 5, <strong>Rochester</strong>, and Mrs. Ruth<br />

BURCH, Carmel, and nieces and nephews.
