Infant VanDerWeele<br />
Infant boy VanDerWEELE, born Sept. 9 in San Antonio, Texas, died Friday. He was the<br />
son of William C. and Lynne BURTON VanDerWEELE. <strong>The</strong> father is stationed at Lackland Air<br />
Force Base, San Antonio.<br />
Surviving with the parents are the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward<br />
BURTON, Eylria, O.; the paternal grandparents, Dr. Wayne J. and Isabelle KING<br />
VanDerWEELE, Rockville, Md.; the great-grandparents, Wayne A and Mary VanDerWEELE,<br />
Argos, and Mrs. Dewey (Sarah) KING, <strong>Rochester</strong>, and the great-great-grandmother, Mrs. Alberta<br />
VanDerWEELE, Argos.<br />
Graveside services are set tentatively for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Argos Maple Grove<br />
Cemetery with the Rev. Ellsworth ROUTSON officiating. <strong>The</strong> Grossman funeral home at Argos<br />
is in charge of services.<br />
Sarah Black<br />
Mrs. Sarah “Sadie” BLACK, 87, R.R. 2, Akron, died at 9 p.m. Saturday in Woodlawn<br />
hospital. She had been a patient three weeks.<br />
Born Jan. 23, 1887, in Sevastapol, she was the daughter of George and Mary DUNLAP<br />
RICKEL. Her marriage was in 1902 to Charles BLACK. He died in 1949. She had spent her<br />
lifetime in the Akron area and was a member of the Beaver Dam United Methodist church and the<br />
Mentone Order of Eastern Star.<br />
Surviving are one son, George BLACK, R.R. 1, Claypool; one grandson, Brook BLACK,<br />
Anderson; five great-grandchildren. One son, Bernard [BLACK], preceded in death.<br />
Final rites will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Haupert funeral home in Akron.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Rev. Peter HANSTRA will officiate. Burial will be in the Mentone cemetery. Friends may<br />
call at the funeral home.<br />
Katherine Lachick<br />
Mrs. Katherine LACHICK, 51, R.R. 5, <strong>Rochester</strong>, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday in Woodlawn<br />
hospital, where she had been a patient 18 months.<br />
Born Nov. 15, 1919 in Dniepurorsak, Russie, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.<br />
George SHAMBACH. She came here from Chicago in 1967. Her first marriage was to Zygmunt<br />
OKNINSKI. Her second marriage was Sept. 15, 1967 in <strong>Rochester</strong> to Wojeiech LACHICK, who<br />
survives. She attended the St. Joseph Catholic church.<br />
Surviving with the husband are two sons, Stanley OKNINSKI, Chicago, and Robert<br />
[OKNINSKI], of Plainfield.<br />
Arrangements are pending at the Foster & Good funeral home.<br />

Final rites for Mrs. Katherine LACHICK, 51, R.R. 5, <strong>Rochester</strong>, who died Sunday<br />
morning in Woodlawn hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Foster & Good funeral home.<br />
Father Richard SMITH will officiate and burial will be in the <strong>Rochester</strong> I.O.O.F.<br />
cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 o’clock<br />
tonight.
