Ethel M. Staley<br />

Mrs. Ethel Mae STALEY, 88, R.R. 2, Argos, died at 5:25 a.m. today in the TLC nursing<br />

home in Argos.<br />

Born Nov. 21, 1881, in the same neighborhood where she had resided the past 37 years,<br />

she was the daughter of John Henry and Sarah Jane BOGGS. Her marriage was June 16, 1906, in<br />

Marshall county, to Frank C. STALEY. He died June 18, 1941. She was a member of the Argos<br />

Congregational Christian church, Yellowstone club, Hi Neighbor club, and the Argos Izaak<br />

Walton auxiliary.<br />

Surviving are one son, Robert C. STALEY, South Bend; two grandchildren, Richard<br />

STALEY, of Virginia, and Mrs. Susan BLOOM, Dayton, O.; one great-granddaughter. One<br />

brother and one sister preceded in death.<br />

Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Grossman funeral home in Argos. <strong>The</strong> Rev.<br />

Jacob WAECHTER will officiate. Burial will be in the New Oak Hill cemetery at Plymouth.<br />

Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Thursday.<br />

Lulu R. Kohler<br />

Lulu Ruth KOHLER, 77, Mishawaka, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday in her residence. She had<br />

been ill two years.<br />

Mrs. Kohler was the aunt of Mrs. Joe WILLIAMS, <strong>Fulton</strong>, and John, Thomas and<br />

Charles BALDWIN, all of <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

She was born Feb. 23, 1893, in Kosciusko county. Her marriage was March 22, 1913, in<br />

Mishawaka, to Walter KOHLER, who survives. She had resided in Mishawaka since 1967,<br />

moving from Florida.<br />

Also surviving are two sons, Jack KOHLER, Edwardsburg, Mich., and Walter KOHLER,<br />

Mishawaka; three daughters, Mrs. Raymond TOWNSEND and Mrs. Peter KUZMAN, both of<br />

Mishawaka, and Mrs. James RANDALL, of Elkhart; fifteen grandchildren and twelve greatgradchildren.<br />

Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Thallemer-Goethals funeral home in<br />

Mishawaka. <strong>The</strong> Rev. Raymond D. HARRIS will officiate. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill<br />

cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.<br />

Becky Ruth Thompson<br />

Graveside rites were conducted at 4:30 p.m. today in the Maple Grove cemetery at Argos<br />

for Becky Ruth THOMPSON, infant daughter of Richard and Mary Ruth THOMPSON, R.R. 4,<br />

Plymouth. She died at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday in Marshall county hospital, 18 hours following<br />

birth.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. Raymond OVIATT officiated. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery at<br />

Argos. Arrangements were in charge of the Grossman funeral home.<br />

Surviving with her parents is one sister, Susan [THOMPSON], at home.
