Manor nursing home in Plymouth. Last rites will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Harrison funeral<br />

home at Kewanna. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Friday.<br />

Dow BROWN, R.R. 1, Akron, died at 11 a.m. today at the home of his daughter, Mrs.<br />

Joe GRACZYK, South Bend.<br />

Final rites are pending at the Sheetz funeral home in Akron.<br />

Ada M. Sherbondy<br />

Mrs. Ada M. SHERBONDY, 82, former resident of 719 Madison street, died at 1:30 p.m.<br />

Wednesday in the Miller nursing home. She had been a patient four years and ill five years.<br />

Born Aug. 9, 1888, in <strong>Rochester</strong>, she was the daughter of Gene and Ida ALEXANDER<br />

SOUTHARD. Her marriage was Sept. 30, 1915, in St. Joseph, Mich., to Otto SHERBONDY who<br />

died in 1932. A retired schoolteacher, she had operated a popcorn wagon at the corner of Main<br />

and Eighth streets for many years. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist church,<br />

Rebekah lodge 57 and the World War II Mothers organization.<br />

Surviving are two sons, Howard [SHERBONDY], of Marion, and Richard<br />

[SHERBONDY], of R.R. 1, <strong>Rochester</strong>; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and nieces<br />

and nephews. One brother and a sister preceded in death.<br />

Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home. <strong>The</strong> Rev.<br />

John SCHROEDER will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may call<br />

at the funeral home where the Rebekah lodge will conduct memorial services at 7:30 p.m. today.<br />

Kewanna for Nelson M. HIZER, 81, R.R. 2, Kewanna, who died Wednesday in the Miller nursing<br />

home. Burial will be in the Grass Creek cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home<br />

Born June 6, 1889, at the residence where he resided all his life, he was the son of Aaron<br />

D. and Caroline SOMMERS HIZER. His marriage was March 26, 1921, to Lela McCOY, who<br />

survives. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Grass Creek United Methodist church.<br />

Also surviving are a son, Frank [HIZER], R.R. 2, Kewanna; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth<br />

GAULT, R.R. 1, Macy, and Mrs. Jean MILLER, R.R. 2, Kewanna; one half-sister, Mrs. Rose<br />

JACKSON, Kewanna; a brother, Joseph HIZER, <strong>Rochester</strong>; ten grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren.<br />

One son, a half-sister and three brothers preceded in death.
