Maud M. McInturf<br />
Mrs. Maud Mae McINTURF, 88, 914 South Market street, Kokomo, died Thursday at<br />
1:30 p.m. in National Nursing home, following a two-year illness.<br />
Born Feb. 1, 1882, in Howard county, she was the daugher of Frank and Kate MASSEY<br />
LOWLETT. Her first marriage was to Earl SALLEE, who died in 1930. Her second marriage<br />
was to Jay F. McINTURF, who also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Friends<br />
church, Kokomo.<br />
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Victor (Dot) SMITH, R.R. 2, <strong>Rochester</strong>; one son, E.<br />
Frank SALLEE, Tucson, Ariz.; three granddaughters, Mrs. Carol OLMSTEAD, Wabash, Mrs.<br />
Janet PRONO, Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Audrey NENADICH, Kokomo; five great-grandchildren;<br />
one niece, and five nephews. One sister and one brother preceded her in death.<br />
Final rites will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the Foster & Good funeral home, with Father<br />
Harold WELLER officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park cemetery, Kokomo, where<br />
graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m.<br />
Saturday.<br />
Alonzo C. Carr<br />
Alonzo C. CARR, 84, R.R. 2, Akron, died Thursday at 11 p.m. in Canterbury Manor,<br />
following an illness of ten years.<br />
Born June 6, 1885, in <strong>Rochester</strong>, he was the son of Benjamin and Celista WAGONER<br />
CARR. His marriage was Dec. 8, 1915, to Minnie HENDRICKSON, who died in 1964. A<br />
lifetime resident of the <strong>Rochester</strong> and Akron area, he was a farmer and a former school teacher<br />
who had graduatd from <strong>Rochester</strong> Normal college.<br />
Surviving are three sons, Homer CARR, <strong>Rochester</strong>, Ralph CARR, R.R. 2, Akron, and<br />
Oscar CARR, R.R. 2, <strong>Rochester</strong>; three daughters, Mrs. John (Dorothy) BOWEN and Mrs. William<br />
(Marie) CORDELL, both of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Jack (Donna Belle) ENYEART, Fort Wayne;<br />
twenty grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and one brother, Stanley CARR, Montoursville,<br />
Penn. One son preceded in death.<br />
Final rites will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Haupert funeral home, Akron, with the Rev.<br />
Claude FAWNS officiating. Burial will be in the <strong>Rochester</strong> I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call<br />
at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday and until the services Sunday.<br />
Saturday, June 6, <strong>1970</strong><br />
Margaret E. Hall<br />
Mrs. John (Margaret) HALL, 42, of the Millark community, was killed instantly Friday<br />
afternoon when the car in which she was riding drove onto U.S. 31 from a side road, directly into<br />
the path of an oncoming semi tractor-trailer.<br />
<strong>The</strong> accident, which occurred at 5:01 p.m. eight miles south of the city at Speck’s Corner,<br />
also critically injured the driver of the car. She is Mrs. George (Barbara) PRATHAFTAKIS, 31,<br />
529 West Fourth street, who today was in “serious’ condition in the intensive care ward of South<br />
Bend Memorial hospital.<br />
<strong>The</strong> woman’s teen-age daughter, Henrietta HALL, 14, and Mary PRATHAFTAKIS, 13,<br />
were treated and released at Woodlawn hospital. <strong>The</strong>y were rear-seat passengers in the auto.<br />
Driver of the truck was John WOOD, 38, South Bend. He had only minor injuries.
