Ernest BRANNING, 77, Akron, died at 9:30 a.m. today in Fort Wayne Lutheran hospital.<br />

Rites are pending at the Haupert funeral home in Akron.<br />

Roy Miller<br />

Roy MILLER, Gilead, died at 9:30 a.m. today in the Canterbury Manor nursing home.<br />

Final rites are pending at the Haupert funeral home in Akron.<br />

Bert C. Fletcher<br />

Bert C. FLETCHER, 87, died today at 6:30 a.m. in Woodlawn hospital.<br />

Born April 23, 1882, in <strong>Fulton</strong> county, he was the son of Martin and Ann WYNN<br />

FLETCHER. His marriage was June 10, 1905, to Clara May ALEXANDER, who died Nov. 16,<br />

1953. A retired farmer and former Richland township assessor, he was a member of the<br />

Whippoorwill community church and the Richland Center I.O.O.F. Lodge.<br />

Surviving are one son, Clarence B. [FLETCHER], <strong>Rochester</strong>; one step-son, Marrs<br />

ALEXANDER, South Bend, and four grandchildren, Richard L. FLETCHER, Fort Wayne; Robert<br />

E. FLETCHER, Gary; William ALEXANDER, South Bend, and Teri [ALEXANDER],<br />

<strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

Final rites will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Whippoorwill community church. Burial<br />

will be in the Richland Center I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the Foster & Good funeral<br />

home after 2 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before services.<br />

Ernest H. Branning<br />

Final rites were today at 11 a.m. in the Akron United Methodist church for Ernest H.<br />

BRANNING, who died Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Lutheran hospital, Fort Wayne.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. Harold LEININGER and the Rev. Dan BENGSTON officiated. Burial was in<br />

the Akron cemetery.<br />

Born May 5, 1892, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Henry and Emma BODY<br />

BRANNING. His marriage was in 1914 to Ruth RITTENHOUSE, who died in 1951. He had<br />

lived in Akron 15 years, moving from Piqua, O., and was a retired executive vice-president of the<br />

Wood, Shovel, and Tool company, Piqua. He was also a member of the Akron Chamber of<br />

Commerce and the Akron United Methodist church.<br />

Surviving are two sons, E. Robert BRANNING, Cleveland; and Eugene R. BRANNING,<br />

New York; three grandchildren; one brother, Henry BRANNING, Fort Wayne; and five sisters,<br />

Miss Martha BRANNING, Mrs. Herbert (Emma) BUEHLER, Mrs. John (Luella) SAUER, Mrs.<br />

William (Bertha) LEGGET, and Mrs. T. (Alma) WOLF, all of Fort Wayne. Preceding him in<br />

death are three brothers and two sisters.
