Mrs. Frances COPLEN, 616 Madison street, died unexpectedly at 11:15 a.m. today at her<br />
residence of an apparent heart attack. Final arrangements are pending at the Foster & Good<br />
funeral home.<br />

Final rites will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the Foster & Good funeral home<br />
for Mrs. Frances E. COPLEN, 69, 616 Madison street, who died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at<br />
her residence. <strong>The</strong> Rev. Josef PALAT will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here.<br />
Friends may call at the funeral home.<br />
Born March 9, 1901, in <strong>Fulton</strong> county, she was the daughter of George and Martha<br />
CARPENTER STOCKBERGER. Her marriage was Oct. 18, 1922, in <strong>Fulton</strong> county, to Oscar O.<br />
COPLEN, who survives. She had resided in this area most of her life and was a member of the<br />
former Christian church at Talma and the American Legion auxiliary.<br />
Also surviving are three sons, James L. [COPLEN], of <strong>Rochester</strong>; Francis [COPLEN],<br />
R.R. 1, Argos, and Melville A. [COPLEN], of Warsaw; eleven grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren;<br />
two brothers, Jonas STOCKBERGER, R.R. 1, Warsaw, and George<br />
STOCKBERGER, Fort Wayne. One sister, Mrs. Evadean WOLF, Niles, Mich., preceded in death<br />
two weeks ago. Also preceding in death are two brothers.<br />
Dollie Martin<br />
Mrs. Dollie MARTIN, 83, former Argos resident, died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home<br />
of her son, Gerald MARTIN, in Indianapolis. She had been in failing health the past two years.<br />
Born Sept. 26, 1887, in the Bethel community, northeast of Argos, she was the daughter<br />
of Charles and Eva METHENY OLER. Her marriage was Aug. 7, 1908, in Argos, to Charles H.<br />
MARTIN. He died Sept. 25, 1942. Mrs. Martin had resided in the Argos community most of her<br />
life with the exception of the past two years when she lived with her son in Indianapolis. She was<br />
a member of the Argos Congregational Christian church.<br />
Surviving are the one son, Gerald, Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Edna SICKMILLER, of<br />
Argos, and Mrs. Frank (Jennie) BIGGS, Battleground; two grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren.<br />
One brother and three sisters preceded in death.<br />
Final rites will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Grossman funeral home in Argos. <strong>The</strong> Rev.<br />
Jacob WAECHTER will officiate. Burial will be in the Argos Maple Grove cemetery. Friends<br />
may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Thursday.<br />
Blanche Flesland<br />
Mrs. Blanche FLESLAND, 70, Aitkin, Minn., a former Talma resident, died Tuesday in<br />
Two-Harbors, Minn., following a two-week illness.<br />
Mrs. Flesland was born in Talma July 1, 1900, to Burr and Elizabeth KESSLER BARR<br />
and lived there until her marriage to Olaf FLESLAND in 1928 in California.<br />
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Glenn TYLE, Minneapolis, Minn., and a brother,<br />
Fred D. BARR, R.R. 5, <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />
Services will be in Aitkin, Minn., Saturday.
