William F. Oswalt<br />
Final rites will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Hathaway-Morrison funeral home in Columbus<br />
for William F. OSWALT, Columbus, who died Wednesday at his residence.<br />
Burial will be in the Garland Brook cemetery in Columbus. Friends may call at the<br />
funeral home.<br />
<strong>The</strong> family has requested that memorials other than flowers be in the form of<br />
contributions to ALS, a branch of Multiple Sclerosis research.<br />
Born in Wabash, he was the son of Dick and Mable COATE OSWALT. His marriage<br />
was in 1935, in <strong>Rochester</strong>, to Meriam GRAEBER OSWALT, who survives.<br />
Also surviving are one son, Phillip [OSWALT], of Indianapolis; one daughter, Mrs. John<br />
M. KELLY, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; one sister; two brothers, and four grandchildren.<br />
James R. Wells<br />
James Raymond WELLS, 71, Macy, barber at Nyona Lake, died Wednesday at 10:20<br />
a.m. in Woodlawn hospital. He had been ill two weeks.<br />
Born Sept. 5, 1898, in Howard county, he was the son of Lafayette and Bertha<br />
ATKINSON WELLS. His marriage was June 28, 1919, in Kokomo, to Mildred Marie<br />
STILLWELL, who survives. He was the owner of Jim’s Barber Shop, Nyona Lake, and a former<br />
employee of the Indiana Glass company, Dunkirk. A member of the Peru Barber Union he was<br />
also a member of the Americn Flint Glass Workers Union, and the Christian church, Darough<br />
Chapel, Darough.<br />
Surviving with the wife are one daughter, Mrs. Walter (June) WHITE, Dunkirk; two<br />
sons, Earl J. WELLS, Dunkirk, and Lowell WELLS, Gas City; six grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren;<br />
two sisters, Mrs. Leona LOOKER, Franklin, and Mrs. Cecil DAILY, Kokomo.<br />
Final rites will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Jones funeral home, Dunkirk. Rev. MOORE<br />
will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery, Dunkirk. Friends may call at the Country<br />
Chapel, McCain funeral home, Denver, after 2 p.m. Friday and at the Jones funeral home,<br />
Dunkirk, after 2 p.m. Saturday.<br />
Osa Gearhart<br />
Osa GEARHART, 80, Twelve Mile, died Wednesday at 11:50 a.m., in Memorial<br />
hospital, Logansport.<br />
Born Sept. 21, 1889, in Virginia, he was the son of John and Ida May WINGFIELD<br />
GEARHART. His marriage was July 21, 1915, inToledo, Iowa, to Mary YANDA, who survives.<br />
A retired farmer he had lived in the Twelve Mile area his entire life. he was a member of the<br />
Eagles Lodge, Logansport.<br />
Surviving with the wife are four children, Clyde GEARHART, Milwaukee, Wis, Lester<br />
GEARHART, Tucson, Ariz., George GEARHART, Twelve Mile, and Mrs. Betty SPENCER,<br />
Logansport; ten grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; two brothers, Bruce GEARHART,<br />
Laughton, Mich., and Clarence GEARHART, Thurman, Iowa; and one sister, Mrs. William<br />
HUNT, winamac.<br />
Final rites will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the McCain Funeral home at U.S. 31 and Ind. 16.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Rev. Lynn SOUGHN will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenlawn cemetery, Mexico.<br />
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.
