Howard K. PETERS, 61, R.R. 1, Claypool, died Sunday at 7:48 a.m. in Murphy Medical
Center, Warsaw, following a brief illness.
Born Dec. 27, 1908, in Howard county, he was the son of William D. and Naomi
MARVIN PETERS. His first marriage was Dec. 26, 1930, to Verda JAMES, who died in 1951.
His second marriage was May 13, 1954, in Fort Wayne, to LaDonna BLANTON, who survives.
Moving from Howard county, he had lived in the Claypool community for 29 years. A used-car
dealer, he was a member of the Hemlock Baptist church, the Akron Masonic lodge number 659
and the Fort Wayne Scottish Rite.
Surviving with his second wife are four daughters, Rose Marie and Donna Sue
[PETERS], both at home and Mrs. Hubert (Mary Lou) JOYNER, Sharpsville and Mrs. Ines (Joy)
ROSS, Converse; seven grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Howard EADES, Hemlock, Ind., Mrs.
Noel LONTS, Fort Wayne, Mrs. Owen STEVENS, Oakford, Ind., and Mrs. Olen ARMSTRONG,
Kokomo, and one brother, Marvin PETERS, Kokomo. One son and one grandson preceded in
death.
Final rites will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Sheetz funeral home, Akron. The Rev.
Peter HANSTRA will officiate. Burial will be in the Silver Lake cemetery. Friends may call at
the funeral homa after 2 p.m. Tuesday and until the services Wednesday.

Valura BAHNEY, R.R. 1, Roann, died Monday at 8:45 a.m. in Wabash county hospital.
Final rites are pending in the Sheetz funeral home, Akron.

Final rites will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Sheetz funeral home, Akron, for Mrs.
Valura E. BAHNEY, 78, R.R. 1, Roann, who died Monday at 8:25 a.m. in Wabash county
hospital.
The Rev. Kenneth HOSTETLER will officiate. Burial will be in the Akron cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday and until the services Thursday.
Born Jan. 29, 1892, in Akron, she was the daughter of Edgar and Laura NYE. Her
marriage was Dec. 15, 1909, in Rochester, to Moses T. BAHNEY, who died in 1963. A lifetime
resident of the Roann area, she was a member of the Emmanuel church, southeast of Akron.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Beatrice) FITES, R.R. 1, Macy, Mrs. Allen
(Imogene) SMITH, R.R. 1, Silver Lake, and Mrs. Harold (Mary Ellen) FLOOR, North
Manchester; one son, Gerald BAHNEY, R.R. 1, Roann; twelve grandchildren; ten greatgrandcildren,
and one half-brother, Robert BAMMERLIN, R.R. 1, Roann. One son and two halfbrothers
preceded her in death.

Lona Pontious
Mrs. Lona PONTIOUS, 73, Huntington, died this morning in Spooner, Wis. She had
been ill several years.
Final rites are pending at the Haupert funeral home, Akron.
