Herman D. Jones
Herman D. JONES, 60, Ocala, Fla., formerly of Rochester, died Tuesday at 1 a.m. in his
home. He had been ill ten years.
Born Sept. 8, 1909, near Talma, he was the son of Charles T. and Anna Viola DEAMER
JONES. His marriage was April 9, 1939, in Rochester, to Mary Jane ZARTMAN, who survives.
A retired salesman, he was a veteran of WW 2 and a member of the American Legion, Rochester.
Surviving with the wife are one brother, Charles T. JONES, Rochester; and two sisters,
Mrs. Marjorie BRYANT, Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Eva KILLION, North Canton, O. Two brothers
and one sister preceded in death.
Final rites will be Friday at 3 p.m. in Zimmerman Brothers funeral home, Rochester. The
Rev. Josef PALAT will officiate. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may
call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday.
Russell C. Hoffman
Russell C. HOFFMAN, 67, Coldwater, Mich., a former Gilead resident, died Tuesday at
3:30 p.m. in St. Joseph hospital, Ann Arbor, Mich.
Born Sept. 22, 1902, in Roann, he was the son of Ezra and Lydia DEWALD HOFFMAN.
His marriage was to Furl BOWLBY who survives. A general contractor, he had lived in the
Coldwater community for 25 years, moving from Gilead.
Surviving with the wife are one daughter, Mrs. George (Elva) FOOR, Hartford City; one
step-daughter, Mrs. J. K. (Ethel) FORBES, Coldwater; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren,
and two brothers, Ralph HOFFMAN, Roann, and Frank HOFFMAN, Laketon.
Final rites will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the Haupert funeral home at Akron. The Rev.
George RESER will officiate. Burial will be in the Silver Creek cemetery. Friends may call at the
funeral home after 7 p.m. Thursday.

Ama G. Breseke
Mrs. Ama G. BRESEKE, 68, Rochester, died Thursday at 9 p.m. in Memorial hospital,
South Bend.
Born Oct. 8, 1901, in Hanna, she was the daughter of James and Ida COLLINS
ROSENBAUM. Her marriage was June 25, 1921, in LaPorte, to John H. BRESEKE, who
survives. She had lived in Rochester since 1945, and she was a member of the Church of God,
Rochester.
Surviving with the husband are three daughters, Mrs. Cecil (June) GOODWIN, Union
Mills; Mrs. Wayne (Lorna) CRAVEN, Newark, Del., and Miss Nancy BRESEKE, Chicago, Ill.;
two sons, James H. BRESEKE, Scottsdale, Ariz. and Donald K. BRESEKA, Ann Arbor, Mich.;
nine grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Alfred (Oma) SIMPSON, Grand Rapids, Mich.
Final rites will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in Foster & Good funeral home. The Rev. C. J.
MOWRER will officiate. Burial will be in the Hanna cemetery, Hanna. Friends may call at the
funeral home after 3 p.m. Saturday.
