Elsie M. Widows<br />

Final rites for Mrs. Elsie M. WIDOWS, 73, R.R. 2, Lake Manitou, who died at 11:30<br />

p.m. Thursday at the Community hospital in Indianapolis, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the<br />

Zimmerman Brothers funeral home.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. Francis ROGERS will officiate and burial will be in the Citizen’s cemetery.<br />

Friends may call at the funeral home<br />

Born Feb. 8, 1896, in <strong>Fulton</strong> county, she was the daughter of Frank and Almina PIPER<br />

STEFFEY. Her marriage was Nov. 13, 1913, in <strong>Rochester</strong> to Harry E. WIDOWS, who survives.<br />

She had spent her entire life in <strong>Rochester</strong>. Mrs. Widows had been ill one year and seriously ill<br />

three weeks.<br />

Surviving with the husband is a foster-daughter, Mrs. Phileta DICKOVER, Indianapolis<br />

two grandchildren, Annette TULLIS and John N. DICKOVER, both of Indianapolis; four greatgrandchildren,<br />

and one brother, Corral STEFFEY, Hammond. Four brothers, including Ernest<br />

STEFFEY of <strong>Rochester</strong>, and one sister preceded in death.<br />

Frank E. Wise<br />

Frank Edward WISE, 69, R.R. 1, Lake Manitou, died Sunday at 5:45 p.m. at his<br />

residence. He had been ill 10 months.<br />

Born Feb. 6, 1900, in Miami county, he was the son of Edward and Ette HUDNELL<br />

WISE. His marriage was Nov. 23, 1921, in Roann, to Lulu JOHNSON, who survives. He had<br />

lived in the <strong>Rochester</strong> area for five years, moving here from Peru, and was a retired farmer and<br />

former employee of the Miami <strong>County</strong> Farm Bureau. He was a member of the Brethren church of<br />

Loree.<br />

Surviving with the wife are a son, Leroy “Bud” WISE, Mentone; a daughter, Mrs. Karl E.<br />

(Lula Mae) KING, Peru; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Beulah<br />

ROSER, Wabash. A son, Phillip [WISE], died in 1941.<br />

Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with<br />

the Rev. T. R. JONES officiating. Burial will be in Gilead cemetery. Friends may call at the<br />

funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
