Sylvester Zaborowski<br />

Funeral services were conducted this morning at 10:30 o’clock in Plymouth for Sylvester<br />

“Sal” ZABOROWSKI, 70, Plymouth, who died Saturday afternoon. Mr. Zaborowski was the<br />

husband of the former Lucille FELKE, sister of Paul and Ed FELKE of <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

Iva L. Dawald<br />

Iva L. DAWALD, 80, Macy, died Monday at 2:22 p.m. in Dukes hospital, Peru. She had<br />

been ill several months.<br />

Born July 15, 1889, in Miami county, she was the daughter of Isaac and Adaline HELM.<br />

Her marriage was Oct. 6, 1907, in Peru, to Edward L. “Ted” DAWALD, who died in 1966.<br />

Surviving are one son, Kenneth R. DAWALD, Peru; one brother, Roy G. HELM, Wheat<br />

Ridge, Colo.; three sisters, Mrs. Dolly POLLAND, Sterling, Clo., Mrs. Rhonda (Fern)<br />

KRAUSKOPF, and Mrs. Fay AHNERT, Peru, and several nieces and nephews. On son, Roy<br />

DAWALD, preceded in death.<br />

Final rites will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Perrysburg Baptist church. <strong>The</strong> Rev. Ericus<br />

FOOR will officiate. Burial will be in the Fairview cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may call at the<br />

Ditmire-Zimmerman funeral home, <strong>Fulton</strong>, after 2 p.m. Wednesday.<br />

Otis J. Darr<br />

Otis J. DARR, 85, Claypool, died today at 12:15 a.m. in the Ridgedale nursing home,<br />

South Bend.<br />

Born Dec. 24, 1884, in Syracuse, he was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth PHEBUS<br />

DARR. His marriage was Aug. 17, 1904, to Zona E. STANER, who survives. A lifetime rsident<br />

of the Mentone and Bourbon areas, he was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist church,<br />

Mentone.<br />

Surviving with the wife are one son, Harold DARR, Paxton, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs.<br />

Kenneth (Marie) GEARHART, and Mrs. Chester (Catherine) HESLER, both of South Bend; ten<br />

grandchildren; twenty-tw great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.<br />

Final rites will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the King Memorial home, Mentone. <strong>The</strong> Rev.<br />

Norman McVEY will officiate. Burial will be in the Mentone cemetery. Friends may call at the<br />

funeral home after 7 p.m. Wednesday.<br />

Dr. E. A. Whallon<br />

Dr. E. A. WHALLON, 77, Akron, died Monday at 2:45 p.m. in the Americana nursing<br />

home, Indianapolis. He had been ill several months.<br />

Born June 7, 1882, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Henry and Viola BELL<br />

WHALLON. His marriage was Oct. 23, 1919, to Katheryn KISTLER, who died in 1967. He was<br />

a retired veterinarian.<br />

Surviving are two daughters, Harriet WHALLON, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Stanley (Jean)<br />

BURROWS, Norwich, New York; one son, Evan [WHALLON], Jr., Columbus, O.; five<br />

grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Florence QUINN, Washington, D.C.<br />

Final rites will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Haupert funeral home, Akron. <strong>The</strong> Rev.<br />

Daniel BENGSTON will officiate. Burial will be in the Akron cemetery. Friends may call at the<br />

funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
