Sgt. Ronald E. Dills<br />

Funeral services for Sgt. Ronald E. DILLS of Valparaiso, former <strong>Rochester</strong> resident who<br />

was killed in Vietnam, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Van Gilder funeral home in Plymouth with<br />

the Rev. John WASHLER officiating. Burial will be in the Plymouth Oak Hill cemetery. Friends<br />

may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Sunday and after noon on Monday. Memorial services<br />

are set for 3 p.m. EDT Sunday at the Assembly of God church, 154 West Chicago street,<br />

Valparaiso.<br />

Lenore Madary<br />

Mrs. Oliver (Lenore) MADARY, R.R. 1, Macy, formerly of Lake Manitou, died at 77<br />

years of age in Woodlawn hospital at 1:30 p.m. Friday following an illness of 18 months.<br />

Mrs. Madary had lived near Macy since 1964 and had resided in Peru for 43 years prior<br />

to that.<br />

Born Nov. 28, 1892 in Wheatfield, she was the daughter of Joseph H. and Daisy P.<br />

PRICE AUSTIN. She was married Jan. 1, 1913 in <strong>Fulton</strong> to William P. MADARY, who died Oct.<br />

21, 1968. She was a member of the Parkview United Methodist church at Peru.<br />

Surviving are a son, William P. MADARY, Jr., Kokomo; a daughter, Mrs. Berton<br />

(Josephine) WEBSTER, R.R. 1, Macy, and two grandsons, William P. MADARY III,<br />

Indianapolis, and Jerry O. WEBSTER, R.R. 1, Macy.<br />

Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the McCain country chapel, U.S. 31 and Ind. 16,<br />

with the Rev. Laurence SMITH officiating. Burial will be in the <strong>Fulton</strong> cemetery. Friends may<br />

call at the McCain funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday.<br />

Irene Walters<br />

Mrs. Irene WALTERS, 61, R.R. 1, Akron, died at 11 p.m. Friday in her home following a<br />

coronary attack. Death was unexpected, although she had been in failing health for two years.<br />

Born May 6, 1909 in <strong>Fulton</strong> county, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Alta<br />

GARVER McGRIFF. She had resided in Henry township since 1943, moving there from the<br />

Richland Center community. She was married May 24, 1930 in Marshall county to Harold E.<br />

WALTERS, who survives. She was a member of the Athens United Methodist church, the church<br />

WSCS and the Akron Jonah Club, Inc.<br />

Surviving with the husband are two daughters, Mrs. Steve (Kathryn) HARTZLER, R.R.<br />

1, Akron, and Mrs. George (Jean Ann) DEATON, Bourbon; two sons, Lloyd E. WALTERS, R.R.<br />

1, Akron, and Herschel W. WALTERS, Plymouth; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren;<br />

and two sisters, Mrs. Ermal (Lois) McKEE and Mrs. Leon (Jeanette) LEFFERT, both of near<br />

Argos. A son and a sistr preceded in death.<br />

Last rites will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Athens United Methodist church with the Rev.<br />

Wayne JOHNSON officiating. Burial will be in the Richland Centr I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends<br />

may call at the Foster & Good funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday and until 11 a.m. Monday and at<br />

the church for one hour before services. <strong>The</strong> family request memorials other than flowers be in<br />

the form of contributions to the Heart Fund.
