Blanche Harter<br />
Mrs. Blanche HARTER, 86, died at the Cardinal nursing home in South Bend Friday<br />
morning. She had been ill one year.<br />
Born in the Sugar Grove neighborhood near Athens, she was the daughter of Paris and<br />
Lucy BIGGS. She had resided most of her life in Newcastle township. She was married to Robert<br />
RUSSELL, who died in 1913. Her second marriage was to William HARTER, who survives.<br />
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lucy ZOLMAN, Inglewood, Cal.; Mrs. Nina<br />
SCHILLING and Mrs. Allee ANDERSON, both of South Bend; a step-daughter, Mrs. Chester<br />
UTTER, Akron; a son, Merle HARTER, South Bend; six grandchildren, and several greatgrandchildren.<br />
Mrs. Clarence PETERSON of <strong>Rochester</strong> is a sister-in-law.<br />
Last rites will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hollis funeral home in South Bend and burial<br />
will be in the Mount Hope cemetery at Athens.<br />

Charles Runkle, Sr.<br />
Charles RUNKLE, Sr., Wabash, died at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Wabash. He was the father<br />
of Charles RUNKLE, Jr., R.R. 5, Logansport, who formerly owned the We-Like-It trailer court.<br />
Services are pending at the Eddiefield funeral home in Wabash.<br />

Lula G. Moore<br />
Mrs. Lula G. MOORE, 86, Winchester, Ky., a former Kewanna resident, died at 5 p.m.<br />
Friday in Woodlawn hospital following an illness of several days.<br />
Mrs. Moore, who had been here for the past two weeks on a visit, was born Jan. 21, 1884,<br />
in Carlisle, Ky., to William and Laura THOMAS GORE. She was married Nov. 2, 1904 to Archie<br />
MOORE, who died in September, 1964.<br />
Mrs. Moore and her husband operated the Kewanna grocery from 1922 to 1939 prior to<br />
moving to Bradenton, Fla., where they lived until moving to Winchester five years ago. She was a<br />
member of the Bradenton Christian church.<br />
She is survived by four daughers, Miss Gladys MOORE, Winchester, Ky.; Mrs. Charles<br />
(Ellen) MILLS, Lincoln, Ill.; Mrs. Howard (Marguerite) EWEN, R.R. 6, <strong>Rochester</strong>; Mrs. Odin<br />
(Lucille) FEDNER, R.R. 2, <strong>Rochester</strong>; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers,<br />
Daniel and Earl GORE, both of Larned, Kan. Four brothers and sisters preceded in death.<br />
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Foster & Good funeral home with the Rev.<br />
Donald LAMBERT officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may call<br />
after 2 p.m. Sunday.
