Final rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Foster & Good funeral home. <strong>The</strong><br />

Rev. Allen JUMP will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may call at<br />

the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.<br />

Sgt. Joseph Nunn<br />

<strong>The</strong> Vietnam War shas struck <strong>Fulton</strong> county for the 12th time with the combat death of<br />

Army Sgt. Joe NUNN, 21, of Leiters Ford.<br />

<strong>The</strong> son of Mrs. Delores ENGELBRECHT and step-son of Raymond ENGELBRECHT,<br />

who live just south of Leiters Ford in Aubbeenaubbee township, Sgt. Nunn was killed Saturday on<br />

a combat mission in South Vietnam. He was a member of the 199th Lightning Brigade.<br />

Sgt. Nunn’s wife is the former Linda SLUSHER of Culver. <strong>The</strong> couple’s first child, a<br />

girl, was born four months ago. Mrs. Slusher has been rsiding with her parents, Mr and Mrs.<br />

Wilbur SLUSHER of Culver, while her husband was overseas.<br />

<strong>The</strong> sergeant had been in Vietnam only seven weeks. He entered the Army last April.<br />

Sgt. Nunn was an outstandinb basketball player for the former Aubbeenaubbee high<br />

school in 1964-65 and 1965-66. Although only six feet tall, he played center and as a senior he<br />

scored over 30 points in three different games, his high being 39.<br />

After graduation from Aubbee in 1966, Nunn worked at the farm od Doug FELTIS in<br />

Aubbeenaubbee township until entering the service.<br />

Surviving with the wife, child, mother and step-father are five sisters and a brother.<br />

<strong>Fulton</strong> county’s first Vietham War death came in February of 1963. <strong>County</strong> victims of<br />

the hostilities in addition to Sgt. Nunn have been James TALBOTT, Kewanna; James AMEIGH,<br />

Disko; Neil McKINNEY, Roger MANNS and Dennis FAIRCHILD, all of Akron; James UTTER<br />

and Marvin WHITE, both of Talma, and Timothy ROE, James BALLINGER, Lawrence GIBSON<br />

and George PACKARD, all of <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

Final rites aree pending at the Easterday-Bonine funeral home, Culver, for Sgt. Joseph L.<br />

NUNN, 21, R.R. 1, Culver, who ecame <strong>Fulton</strong> county’s 12th Vietnam war victim Saturday.<br />

His body is being returned to the funeral home.<br />

Sgt. Nunn was married Aug. 16, 1969 in Culver to Linda S. SLUSHER, who survives.<br />

Also surviving are one daughter, Leah Marie [NUNN], at home; his father, Loren NUNN,<br />

Kentucky; his step-father and his mother, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond ENGELBRECHT, R.R. 4,<br />

<strong>Rochester</strong>; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph STROBEL, Culver; one brother, Kevin COX,<br />

<strong>Rochester</strong>, and five sisters, Mrs. Paulette WASHBURN, Miss Pam NUNN, and Mrs. Debora<br />

CROY, all of Culver, and Miss Lisa NUNN and Miss Michelle ENGELBRECHT, both of<br />

Rochestr.
