John A. Webb<br />

John A. “Lonnie” WEBB, 78, R.R. 1, Etna Green, died at 9:30 a.m. Monday at his<br />

residence. He had been ill several years.<br />

Born June 11, 1892, in Wakarusa, he was the son of Nathan and Eva WEBB. His<br />

marriage was Jan. 1, 1914, in Etna Green, to Ruth PITTMAN. She survives. A retired farmer,<br />

Mr. Webb had lived his life in Etna Green. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist church at<br />

Etna Green.<br />

Also surviving are one son, Doyle [WEBB], of Warsaw, two sisters, Mrs. Joe<br />

HUFFMAN, Atwood, and Mrs. Goldie PLETCHER, Nappanee; seven grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren.<br />

One daughter preceded in death.<br />

Final rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the King Memorial home at Mentone.<br />

Elder Elias GARBER will officiate. Burial will be in the Harrison Center cemetery. Friends may<br />

call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.<br />

Jane Myers<br />

Joe W. MYERS, 49, vice president of industrial relations for Continental Steel and<br />

president of the Kokomo Area Chamber of Commerce, and his daughter, Jane [MYERS], 19, died<br />

Sunday in a boating accident on Lake LaCroix in Ontario, Canada.<br />

Myers was a brother of Melvin “Jack” MYERS Sr., R.R. 1, Rochesrter, and an uncle of<br />

Melvin MYERS Jr., R.R. 6, <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

Myers, his wife and daughter were on a fishing trip to Canada. Mrs. Myers was reported<br />

in fair condition after being found washed up on a beach below a falls. Myers’ body was found<br />

Sunday, his daughter’s body being located Monday.<br />

<strong>The</strong> manager of the resort where the three were staying said the boat evidently was<br />

caught in swirling water of rapids and then plunged over falls on a river which empties into Lake<br />

LaCrois.<br />

Gertrude F. Overmyer<br />

Mrs. Gertrude F. OVERMYER, 65, Mishawaka, died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joe,<br />

Mich. following a long illness.<br />

A native of <strong>Fulton</strong> county, she was born Sept. 29, 1904. Her marriage was Dec. 23,<br />

1922, in <strong>Rochester</strong>, to Russell W. OVERMYER, who survives.<br />

Also surviving are two sons, Harold Dean and John C. [OVERMYER], both of South<br />

Bend; one daughter, Mrs. George BADDERS, Mishawaka; ten grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren,<br />

and one sister, Mrs. Warren ACKENHUSEN, of Mishawaka.<br />

Final rites will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Hollis funeral home in South<br />

Bend. <strong>The</strong> Rev. Lawrence LEE will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Joe Valley Memorial Park<br />

in St. Joe, Mich. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. today and Friday from 2-4<br />

p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
