Hallie M. Bitterling<br />

Hallie M. BITTERLING, 73, Kewanna, died today at 7:10 a.m. in Woodlawn hospital.<br />

Born Sept. 20, 1896, in Pulaski county, she was the daughter of George and Capitola<br />

CRAMER GUSS. Her marriage was Sept. 20, 1916, to George BITTERLING, who survives. She<br />

was a member of the Lutheran church, <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

Surviving with the husband are two daughters, Mrs. Violet WILSON, Winamac, and<br />

Mrs. Elnora MALMGREN, Palos Heights, Ill.; two sons, Ralph BITTERLING, Kewanna, and<br />

Dale BITTERLING, Urbana, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Daisy REINHOLT, Winamac; seven<br />

grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.<br />

Final rites will be Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Harrison Garden chapel, Kewanna. <strong>The</strong> Rev.<br />

Darwin LAVENGOOD will officiate. Burial will be in Bruce Lake cemetery. Friends may call at<br />

the funeral home after noon Saturday.<br />

Laura E. Eagan<br />

Laura A. EAGAN, 66, <strong>Rochester</strong>, died Thursday at 9:20 p.m. in St. Joseph hospital,<br />

South Bend. She had been ill four months.<br />

Born March 7, 1904, in Greenville, Ill., she was the daughter of Otto and Lydia<br />

SCHOENEWEISS GEERKENS. Her marriage was June 5, 1924, in Decatur, Ill., to Lawson E.<br />

EAGAN, who survives. Moving from Colfax, Ill, she had lived in <strong>Rochester</strong> 13 years. She was a<br />

former employee of the <strong>Rochester</strong> News Aency and a member of the United Methodist church,<br />

Cooksville, Ill.<br />

Surviving with the husband are one son, Lauran E. EAGAN, Dallas, Texas; one<br />

granddaughter, Karen [EAGAN], and one grandson, Rex [EAGAN], both of Dallas, and one<br />

sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Eda) ANDERSON, Rochestr.<br />

Final rites will be Sunday at 9 a.m. in the Foster & Good funeral home with the Rev.<br />

Laurence I. SMITH officiating. Burial will be in Wiley cemetery, Colfax, where graveside<br />

services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday.<br />

Ervin H. Holcomb<br />

Ervin H. HOLCOMB, 65, Leiters Ford, died Friday evening in Marshall county Parkview<br />

hospital, Plymouth. he had been ill one year.<br />

Born June 19, 1904, in Cass county, he was the son of Stephen and Nellie HOLCOMB.<br />

His marriage was March 17, 1928, to Vesta May LOCKS, who survives. He was a former<br />

employee of the Culber Military Academy and had lived in Leiters Ford for 15 years, moving<br />

from Metea.<br />

Surviving with the wife are seven sons, Walter W. [HOLCOMB[, at home; Harold R.<br />

[HOLCOMB], <strong>Rochester</strong>; Oren W. [HOLCOMB], Winamac; Orville E. [HOLCOMB], Lowell;<br />

Thomas K. [HOLCOMB], Griffith; Jerry L. [HOLCOMB, Plymouth, and Joe E. [HOLCOMB],<br />

Deedsville; three daughters, Mrs. Sarah J. REED, Winamac; Mrs. Vivan M. MERSCH, Kewanna,<br />

and Mrs. Joan RIGNEY, <strong>Rochester</strong>, and twenty-seven grandchildren.<br />

Final rites are pending at the Fry and Lange funeral home, Winamac.
