Harold E. Bowell<br />
Harold E BOWELL, 57, Bellmawr, N.J., died at 12:53 a.m. Friday in Parkview hospital<br />
at Plymouth shortly after admission. He suffered a heart attack at the home of his mother, Mrs.<br />
Eloyse BOWELL of Argos, where he and his family were spending the Christmas holidays.<br />
Born Nov. 18, 1913 in Argos, he was the son of Herbert H. and Eloyse YEARICK<br />
BOWELL. He had lived in Bellmawr for 10 years, moving from Newark, O., where he had<br />
moved from Argos in 1937. He was married to Evelyn WISE June 13, 1941 in Newark. She<br />
survives. He graduated in 1932 from Argos high school and was employed as a chief dispatcher<br />
for the Service Motor Freight Lines in the Camden, N.J. area. He was an Air Force veteran of<br />
World War II.<br />
Surviving with the wife are a son, Richard [BOWELL], of New Jersey; a daughter, Mrs.<br />
Ronald KING, of Knox; four grandchildren; the mother; three sisters, Mrs. Rome ZINK and Mrs.<br />
Lowell RITTER, both of Argos, and Mrs. Herrold HENDERSON, West Covina, Cal., and a<br />
brother, Herbert G. “Bud” BOWELL, Argos.<br />
Final rites will be in the Grossman funeral home at Argos at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev.<br />
Robert HANSEN officiating. Burial will be in the Argos Maple Grove cemetery. Friends may<br />
call after 7 p.m. today.<br />
Russell D. Shearer<br />
Russell D. SHEARER, 72, Argos, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at his home after a sixweek<br />
illness.<br />
Born Aug. 21, 1898 in Huntington county, he was the son of Parker and Lavina<br />
TRASTER SHEARER. He had lived in Argos for six years, moving there from Plymouth. He<br />
was married to Olive WEBSTER March 16, 1920 in Plymouth. She survives. He was a retired<br />
salesman and mechanic for the Plymouth Farm Bureau implement company. He was a member of<br />
the Plymouth Church of the Brethren.<br />
Surviving with the wife are three daughters, Mrs. Lester THOMAS, Plymouth; Mrs.<br />
Robert DORAN, Parma, O., and Mrs. David SHEETZ, Argos; a son, Dewey [SHEARER], of<br />
Marion; seventeen grandchildren, and one great-grandson.<br />
Last rites will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Plymouth Church of the Brethren with the<br />
Rev. E. Stanley SMITH officiating. Burial will be in the Plymouth New Oak Hill cemetery.<br />
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today until 9 p.m. Sunday at the Grossman funeral home in Argos<br />
and at the church for one hour before services. <strong>The</strong> family requests memorials be made to the<br />
Plymouth Church of the Brethren or the Cancer Society.<br />
Clarence Nelson<br />
Word was received today of the death in his home of Clarence NELSON, Seaside, Ore., a<br />
former <strong>Rochester</strong> resident. Mr. Nelson, 82, died Dec. 17.<br />
Surviving are the wife, Hazel [NELSON]; two daughters, Mrs. Don (Maxine) HOLT,<br />
Seaside, and Mrs. Robert (Mabel) RAMSEY, Elkhart, and a sister, Mrs. Wilbur (Mary)<br />
STONESTREET, Garrett. A son, Vern [NELSON], preceded in death.
