Herbert C. Wille<br />
Herbert C. WILLE, 62, R.R. 1, Culver, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 5:30 a.m.<br />
Sunday at his residence.<br />
Born Feb. 5, 1908, in Illinois, he had been a resident of <strong>Fulton</strong> county five years, moving<br />
from Granger. His first wife, Katherine [WILLE], died in 1944. His second marriage was to E.<br />
Jane BASSETT, who survives. Mr. Wille was a retired employee of the Standard Oil corporation.<br />
Also surviving, four sons, William WILLE, Waco, Texas; Herbert [WILLE] Jr., South<br />
Bend; Henry [WILLE], California, and James WILLE, Michigan City; one daughter, Miss Ann<br />
WILLE, South Bend; one step-son, Raymond BASSETT, Edwardsburg, Mich.; two stepdaughters,<br />
Mrs. Rene SIMONS and Mrs. Nora CARRICO, both of Elkhart; one brother, Carl<br />
WILLE, North Liberty; eleven grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild.<br />
<strong>The</strong> body has been removed from the Easterday-Bonine funeral home in Culver to the<br />
Hartzler-Gutermuth funeral home in Elkhart where final arrangements are pending.<br />
Minnie A. Castleman<br />
Mrs. Minnie A. CASTLEMAN, 86, former resident of the Burton community, died at<br />
10:45 p.m. Saturday in the Minot nursing home in Minot, N.D.<br />
Born Dec. 4, 1883, in Brownton, Minn., she was the daughter of William and Mard<br />
RICHARDS KLOPFLEISCH. Her marriage was June 3, 1923, in Brownton, Minn., to O. W.<br />
CASTLEMAN. He died in April 1966. Mrs. Castleman had resided in Burton from 1940 to 1966.<br />
She was a member of the Burton Methodist church and the WSCS of the church.<br />
Surviving are two step-daughters, Mrs. Zoa COUCH, Portland, O., and Mrs. Mildred<br />
HAMBLIN, Boise, Ida.; one step-son, C. O. CASTLEMAN, Minot, N.D.; several grandchildre;<br />
two sisters, Mrs. Nora SANDMANN, New Richmond, Wis., and Mrs. Florence JOHNSON,<br />
Richland, Wis.; two brothers, Carl KLOPFLEISCH, Arcola, Ill., and Fred [KLOPFLEISCH],<br />
Amery, Wis. One step-daugher and three step-sons preceded in death.<br />
Final rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Foster & Good funeral home.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Rev. Laurence SMITH will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends<br />
may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Wednesday.<br />
Blanche E. Roderick<br />
Mrs. Blanche E. RODERICK, 85, former Akron resident, died at 9:45 p.m. Saturday in<br />
the Canterbury nursing home here. She had resided in Daytona Beach, Fla., the past 16 years.<br />
Born April 29, 1885, in Alabama, she was the daughter of Richard and Sarah LAYMAN<br />
LONG. Her marriage was in 1924, to Clyde RODERICK, who died in pril, <strong>1970</strong>. Mrs. Roderick<br />
was a member of the White Chapin Church of God in Daytona Beach.<br />
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Elvin (Virginia) HOFFMAN, Monticello; four<br />
grandchildren; three great-grandchildren one step-grandson, Earl SOUDER, Los Angeles; one<br />
step-granddaughter, Patty WILLIAMS, Los Angeles; one sister, Mrs. George (Floy) HOLMES,<br />
Greencastle, and one brother, Lester LONG, Oklahoma.<br />
Final rites will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Haupert funeral home in Akron. <strong>The</strong> Rev.<br />
George CONSTANCE will officiate. Burial will be in the Silver Creek cemetery. Friends may<br />
call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
