Wayne M. Blackburn<br />

Wayne M. BLACKBURN, 54, Lapaz, died at his residence at 3:15 a.m. today following<br />

an illness of seven years.<br />

Born June 20, 1915, at Macy, he was married July 5, 1943, to Susan B. WEBB,<br />

<strong>Rochester</strong>, who survives. He had lived in Lapaz for the past 11 years, moving from Nyona lake.<br />

Surviving with the wife are one son, John [BLACKBURN], Lapaz, and two daughters,<br />

Mrs. Cheryl CAMPBELL, Madison, and Deborah K. [BLACKBURN], at home.<br />

Final rites will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Harden Memorial chapel, Lakeville.<br />

Burial will be in the Plainview cemetery, Macy, at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may call at the<br />

chapel Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m.<br />

Tuesday, February 3, <strong>1970</strong><br />

Edith M. Cooley<br />

Mrs. Edith Mae COOLEY, 73, Argos, died at 10:45 a.m. Monday at Parkview hospital,<br />

Plymouth.<br />

Born Oct. 4, 1896, Three Oaks, Mich., she was the daughter of George and Bertha<br />

DEANE STANAGE. Her marriage was Oct. 13, 1913 in Three Oaks to Roscoe R. COOLEY,<br />

who died in 1964. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Pentecostal Faith, <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Vera ELLIS, Mrs. Frank (Betty) HARDESTY and Mrs.<br />

Patricia ZEIDER, all of Argos; and Mrs. Paul (Mary) PERKINS, Mrs. William (Donnabelle)<br />

STEGMAN, Mrs. Joseph (Louewella) RIDDLE, all of Dallas; four sons, Harry and Raymond<br />

[COOLEY], both of South Bend, George [COOLEY], Dallas, and David [COOLEY], Atlanta,<br />

Ga.; twenty-nine grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold and Bert<br />

[STANAGE], and one sister, Ethel [STANAGE], all of Three Oaks.<br />

Final rites will be Thursday 2 p.m. at the Argos Church of Jesus Christ Pentecostal Faith<br />

with Elder Robert JOHNSON officiating. Burial will be at the Lakeville cemetery. Friends may<br />

call at the Grossman funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday, and until noon Thursday, and at the<br />

church one hour before services.<br />

Elma M. Crabill<br />

Elma M. CRABILL, 78, died Monday at 9:20 a.m. at the Whitley <strong>County</strong> hospital,<br />

Columbia City, following a stroke. She had been ill since Jan. 2.<br />

Born Oct. 4, 1891, in Whitley county, she was the daughter of Joseph and Malissa<br />

FAIRCHILD GRACE. Her marriage was to Albert CRABILL on Nov. 27, 1911, and in 1946<br />

they moved to Churubusco. He died last Dec. 8.<br />

Surviving are two sons, Calvin [CRABILL], <strong>Rochester</strong>, and Lyman [CRABILL],<br />

Columbia City; three daughters, Mrs. Carl FULK, Churubusco; Mrs. Eddie HOPPES, Columbia<br />

City, and Mrs. Waveland HOWE, New Haven, Ind. twenty-two grandchildren; nineteen greatgrandchildren;<br />

one sister, Mrs. Bessie HART, Elida, O., and two brothers, Ralph GRACE , Fort<br />

Wayne, and Verlin [GRACE], Columbia City.<br />

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Sheets funeral home, Churubusco.<br />

Friends may call after 7 o’clock this evening.
