Mildred L. Treber<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. Mildred L. TREBER, 75, Argos, retired Christian church minister, died Friday<br />

at 5:20 p.m. in Marshall county Parkview hospital, Plymouth. She had been ill five years.<br />

Born April 7, 1894, in Winchester, she was the daughter of William A. and Flord D.<br />

MYERS. Her marriage was Jan 29, 1915, in Winchester to the Rev. Ernest TREBER, who died in<br />

December, 1969. Having attended Taylor university and Defiance college, Defiance, O., she was<br />

ordained in 1915. She had held pastorates in Winchester, Mooreland, Dunkirk, Bluffton and<br />

Tippecanoe. She had continued her ministry with her husband until her retirement in 1953. She<br />

was a member of the Congregational Christian church, the Order of Eastern Star, the American<br />

Legion Auxiliary and the Gold Star Mothers, all at Argos.<br />

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Ernestine) BECKER, Argos, and Mrs. John<br />

(Glea) POWERS, Plymouth; one son, Robert TREBER, Argos; twelve grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren;<br />

two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Mary) SNODGRASS, Muncie, and Mrs. Hubert (Enola)<br />

CLEVENGER, Winchester, and three brothers, Claude CORTNER, Richmond; Joseph<br />

CORTNER, Indianapolis, and Charles CORTNER, California.<br />

Two sons preceded in death.<br />

Final rites will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Grossman funeral home, Argos. <strong>The</strong> Rev.<br />

Jacob WAECHTER will officiate. Burial will be in the Argos Maple Grove cemetery. Friends<br />

may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.<br />

T. Roy DeWitt<br />

T. Roy DeWITT, 78, Mentone, died Friday at 9:25 a.m. in the Veteran’s hospital, Fot<br />

Wayne. He had been ill five months.<br />

Born Jan. 20, 1892, near English, Ind., he was married Feb. 18, 1928, to Ruth A.<br />

MEREDITH, who survives. A former employee of the U.S. Rubber company, Fort Wayne, he<br />

was a member of the Nazarene church, a veteran of W.W. I, and a graduate of the University of<br />

Cincinnati.<br />

Surviving are two sons, Elmer [DeWITT], Noblesville, and Ed [DeWITT], Fort Wayne;<br />

one daughter, Mrs. James (Lela) STEIN, Fort Wayne; three brothers, Clarence [DeWITT],<br />

Pasadena, Cal., Floyd [DeWITT], Louisville, Ky., and Oscar [DeWITT], California; seven<br />

grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.<br />

Final rites will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the King Memorial funeral home, Mentone.<br />

Burial will be in the Mentone cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.<br />

Clarence E. Sicks<br />

Clarence E. SICKS, 83, Silver Lake, died Saturday at 2 p.m. in Pleasant View nursing<br />

home, Wabash. He had been ill two months.<br />

Born April 19, 1886, in State Line, Ind., he was the son of Albert and Lina BRIGGS<br />

SICKS. His first marriage was March 25, 1908, to Lenora Mae CLINKER, who died in 1940.<br />

His second marriage was March 20, 1964, to Hazel SITTLER, who survives. A lifetime resident<br />

of the Akron and Silver Lake communities, he was a retired farmer and a member of the South<br />

Pleasant United Methodist church.<br />

Surviving with the wife are four sons, Raymond [SICKS], North Manchester; Harold<br />

[SICKS], Mishawaka, John [SICKS], Auburn, and William [SICKS], Hartford City; nine<br />

grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Grace MATHERS, Grand
