Adrion R. Conover<br />
Final rites were conducted Tuesday in Hammond for Adrion R. CONOVER, 44, Dyer,<br />
who died Saturday in Dyer. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee CONOVER, <strong>Rochester</strong>, and the<br />
son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. John WALTZ, also of <strong>Rochester</strong>. Also surviving is his wife, Irene<br />
[CONOVER], three sons and five brothers. Burial was in the Elmwood cemetery at Hammond.<br />
Marie Alber<br />
Mrs. Marie ALBER, 68, R.R. 5, <strong>Rochester</strong>, died at 2:15 a.m. today in Woodlawn<br />
hospital, where she was admitted Thursday afternoon. She had been in failing health for six<br />
months. Cause of death was a cerebral hemorrhage.<br />
Born April 21, 1902 in <strong>Fulton</strong> county, she was the daughter of Frank and Sarah<br />
OVERMYER BARNHART. She had resided all her life in <strong>Fulton</strong> county. She was married April<br />
24, 1920 in <strong>Rochester</strong> to N. M. “Pete” ALBER, who survives. She was a member of the Tiosa<br />
Brethren church and the What-Not Home Extension club.<br />
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Russell (Marjorie) CAUFFMAN, New Carlisle; six<br />
sons, Ramon [ALBER], Warsaw; Addison [ALBER], Tempe, Ariz.; Wayne [ALBER], Bremen;<br />
Dick [ALBER], <strong>Rochester</strong> Larry [ALBER], Dayton, O., and Phillip [ALBER], Fort Wayne; a<br />
sister, Mrs. Raymond (Marietta) MARSHALL, Bremen; twenty grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren.<br />
Preceding in death were the parents, a son and a brother.<br />
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Tiosa Brethren church with the Revs.<br />
Paul RITCHEY and Edgar BERKSHIRE officiating. Burial will be in the Sand Hill cemetery.<br />
Friends may call at the Foster & Good funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday until 11:30 a.m. Sunday<br />
and at the church for one hour before services.<br />
Alice Gertrude Doud<br />
Final rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Ditmire-Zimmerman funeral home<br />
for Mrs. Alice Gertrude DOUD, 92, R.R. 1, Logansport, who died at 10 a.m. Thursday in<br />
Logansport. <strong>The</strong> Rev. Clarence L. ROBERTS and Raymond SKELTON will officiate. Burial<br />
will be in the <strong>Fulton</strong> cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.<br />
Born May 7, 1878, in Liberty township, she was the daughter of Robeson and Minerva<br />
POWNELL REED. Her marriage was Jan. 11, 1910, in <strong>Fulton</strong> to Edward J. DOUD. He died in<br />
November, 1937. She had resided with her daughter, Mrs. Albert (Gladys) SHOUP, R.R. 1,<br />
Logansport, the past 27 years. She was a member of the Metea Baptist church.<br />
Surviving with the daughter are one brother, Otto REED, <strong>Fulton</strong>; three grandchildren;<br />
seven great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Two brothers preceded in death.
