Hugh H. Cloud<br />

Additional survivors of Hugh H. CLOUD, 70, <strong>Rochester</strong>, who died Tuesday are seven<br />

grandchildren, Zimmerman Brothers funeral home reported today. A brother, Earl [CLOUD], and<br />

a grandchild preceded in death.<br />

Martha Thompson<br />

Final rites followed by Eastern Star services by the Akron OES will be conducted at 8:30<br />

p.m. today in the Foster & Good funeral home for Martha THOMPSON, 77, 913 Jefferson street,<br />

who died Wednesday at 12:30 a.m. in Woodlawn hospital after an illness of two years.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. C. J. MOWRER will officiate. Burial will be in the Forest Hill cemetery,<br />

Shelbyville, where graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday.<br />

Born Dec. 19, 1892, in Southern Indiana, she was married in May of 1917, to Russell S.<br />

THOMPSON. He died Aug. 22, 1968. Moving from Indianapolis where she spent the majority of<br />

her life, she had lived at Nyona Lake and then in <strong>Rochester</strong>. She was a charter member of the<br />

Daughters of the Nile, and was a member of the Koran Temple 30 and the O.E.S. 131 all of<br />

Indianapolis. She had served as clerk of Marion county for nine years and was the clerk of the<br />

Columbia Club of Indianapolis for 17 years.<br />

Grace Shively<br />

Mrs. Grace SHIVELY, 78, R.R. 2, Akron, died Friday at 7:30 p.m. following an illness of<br />

10 days.<br />

Mrs. Shively was born Jan. 20, 1892 in Newcastle township to Albert and Margret<br />

HOLDER BRIGHT. She was married to Everette SHIVELY, who died in 1962. She had spent<br />

her lifetime in this area.<br />

Mrs. Shively is survived by two sons, Ernest [SHIVELY] of R.R. 2, Akron, and William<br />

[SHIVELY] of Ontario, Cal. and Sue DAINE of Akron.<br />

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Haupert funeral home in Akron with the Rev.<br />

Kenneth LEININGER officiating. Burial will be in the Athens cemetery. Friends may call after 2<br />

p.m. Sunday.<br />

Orran L. Miller<br />

Orran L. “Buddie” MILLER, 77, R.R. 1, Tippecanoe, died at 11:;50 a.m. Sunday at his<br />

residence following a heart attack.<br />

Born June 15, 1893, in Kewanna, he was the son of Lewis F. and Minnie Bell<br />

WHITEHEAD MILLER. His marriage was Sept. 2, 1917, in Argos, to Hazel VANLUE, who<br />

survives. A retired farmer and former employee of Bendix corporation in South Bend, Mr. Miller<br />

had resided in the Tippecanoe area 26 years. He was a member of the Whitehead Church of the<br />

Brethren at New Paris.<br />

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs.Dale (Delores) GROSSMAN, Argos; two sons,
