William Gerrich
William “Willie” GERRICH, 87, R.R. 1, Twelve Mile, died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at
National nursing home in Rochester. He had been ill several years.
Born Oct. 24, 1882, in Hagerstown, Pa., he was the son of William and Mary Jane
BLACK GERRICH. His marriage was April 13, 1904 to Manie MILLER, who preceded in death
on Jan. 1, 1952.
Mr. Gerrich was a retired farmer and had lived in the Twelve Mile area since 1936,
moving from Miami county.
Surviving are four sons, Walter [GERRICH], Rochester; Harold [GERRICH], LaPorte;
Earl [GERRICH], Nyona Lake, Donald [GERRICH], Cleveland, O.; two daughters, Mrs. Albert
(Katherine) BRUBAKER, Laketon, Mrs. Harold (Arlyne) GREENE, LaPorte, one sister, Mrs.
Naomi BUTLER, Columbia City; seventeen grandchildren, and thirty-two great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, eight sisters and two grandchildren preceded in death.
Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ditmire-Zimmerman funeral home in Fulton.
The Rev. Franklin ARTHUR will officiate and burial will be in the Fulton cemetery. Friends may
call at the funeral home.
Adolph Mitchell
Adolph MITCHELL, 63, Akron, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn hospital of a
coronary attack.
Born Feb. 19, 1906 in Tennessee, he was the son of Walton and Easter BROWN
MITCHELL. His marriage was in 1952 to Miriam DERSHEM, who survives.
A 20-year resident of Akron, he was a decorator and painter. He was a member of the
Akron United Methodist church and a World War II veteran, serving in England and France.
Surviving with the wife are three daughters, Priscilla and Hanna [MITCHELL], both at
home, Mrs. Robert (Norma) JOHNSON, Lebanon; one son, Howard [MITCHELL], Dearborn,
Mich.; two brothers, Archie and Lloyd [MITCHELL], both of Canton, O.; seven sisters, Mrs.
Pauline BATES, Peru; Mrs. Effie HERTSELL, Cuyahoga Falls, O., Mrs. Annie Belle BROWN,
North Canton, O.; Mrs. Stella PUCKETT, Canton, O.; Mrs. Mary BIRDWELL, Cookville, Tenn.;
Mrs. Nina PUCKETT, Cookville, Tenn., Mrs. Millie WARD, Evergreen, Ala, and four
grandchildren.
Final rites will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Haupert funeral home in Akron. The Revs.
Daniel PINKSTON and Claude FAWNS will officiate and burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery
at Roann. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday until one hour prior to
services.
