Herbert Clemans<br />

Herbert CLEMANS, 67, Macy, died Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at his home. He had been ill<br />

three years.<br />

Born March 13, 1902, in Miami county, he was the son of James O. and Mary H.<br />

ALSPACH CLEMANS. His marriage was July 26, 1930, in Akron, to Anina MILLER, who<br />

survives. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Macy United Methodist church.<br />

Surviving with the wife are two sons, Jimmie [CLEMANS], Swayzee, and Mark<br />

[CLEMANS], Macy, and three grandchildren.<br />

Final rites will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Macy United Methodist church. <strong>The</strong> Rev.<br />

James O’DELL will officiate. Burial will be in the Plainview cemetery, Macy. Friends may call<br />

at the Sheetz funeral home in Akron, until noon on Tuesday, and at the church one hour prior to<br />

services.<br />

Frank L. Martin<br />

Frank L. MARTIN, 89, Argos, died at noon Sunday in the TLC nursing home, Argos. He<br />

had been ill five months.<br />

Born Sept. 15, 1880, in Flora, he was the son of John and Erusha MARTIN. His<br />

marriage was in 1905 to Della HORNER, who died in 1959.<br />

Surviving are two sons, Glenn MARTIN, Kent, Wash., and Guy [MARTIN], Liberty<br />

Mills; four grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. One son died in infancy.<br />

Final rites will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Grossman funeral home, Argos. <strong>The</strong> Rev. W.<br />

Ray KUHN will officiate. Burial will be in the Argos Maple Grove cemetery. Friends may call at<br />

the funeral home.<br />

George D. Johnstone<br />

George D. JOHNSTONE, 76, Kokomo, died at 12 o’clock noon Saturday.<br />

Born March 29, 1893, in Dundee, Ill., he was the son of Samuel and Jean<br />

KIRKPATRICK JOHNSTONE. His marriage was in 1920, to Mary BROWNLIE, who survives.<br />

A former employee of the <strong>Fulton</strong> <strong>County</strong> Highway department and a retired farmer, he was a<br />

member of the American Legion, Kewanna, and the Izaak Walton League.<br />

Surviving with the wife are two daughters, Mrs. Carl N. (Jean) NUTTER, Kokomo, and<br />

Mrs. Keith W. (Peg) HERMANCE, Lebanon; two brothers, William [JOHNSTONE], South<br />

Pasadena, Cal., and Robert [JOHNSTONE], Marengo, Ill., and two grandchildren.<br />

Final rites will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Ellers funeral chapel, Kokomo. <strong>The</strong> Rev. Peter<br />

ECKERT will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Kokomo. Friends may call at<br />

the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. today.<br />

Clarence Poffenbarger<br />

Clarence POFFENBARGER, 89, 103 <strong>Fulton</strong> avenue, died at 10:40 a.m. today in<br />

Woodlawn hospital. he was admitted to the hospital Saturday.<br />

Final arrangements are pending at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home.
