Walter E. McNeil<br />
Final rites for Walter E. McNEIL, 82, R.R. 1, <strong>Rochester</strong> (Lake Manitou), will be at 2<br />
p.m. Monday in the Foster & Good funeral home with the Rev. A. E. GIVENS officiating. Burial<br />
will be in the Culver Masonic cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m.<br />
and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.<br />
Mr. McNeil died at 12:15 p.m. Friday in Woodlawn hospital, where he was admitted<br />
Thursday. He had been in failing health several years.<br />
Born March 24, 1888 in Boston, Mass., he was one of the 20 orphans who were taken<br />
into <strong>Rochester</strong> homes in 1892 and was reared in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy MYERS. He<br />
resided most of his life in <strong>Fulton</strong> county and had spent the winters in Palm Harbor, Fla., for the<br />
last 21 yers. He was married June 5, 1913 in Plymouth to Dessie M. OVERMYER, who<br />
survives. He was a retired farmer and carpenter and a member of the Emmanuel Methodist church<br />
of Culver.<br />
Surviving with the wife are two sons, Donald E. [McNEIL], of Indio, Cal., and Royal N.<br />
[McNEIL], of South Bend; five grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. A daughter, Mrs. Clary<br />
Jean ANDRUS, died four years ago.<br />

Earl E. Vandermark<br />
Earl Emmot “Bully” VANDERMARK, 70, Mentone, died at 4:45 p.m. Friday at his<br />
home following a stroke. His death was unexpected.<br />
Born Jan. 10, 1900 in Mentone, he was the son of Levi and Mary MELTON<br />
VANDERMARK. He resided all his life in the Mentone area and was a retired employee of the<br />
Midwest Spring company of Mentone.<br />
Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Gordon (Edith) YOUNG, R.R. 2, Warsaw. A brother and a<br />
sister preceded in death.<br />
Last rites will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the King Memorial home at Mentone and burial<br />
will be in the Mentone cemetery. Friends may call after noon Sunday at the funeral home.<br />

Frieda Detrick<br />
Mrs. John DAMAS of <strong>Rochester</strong> has received word that her sister-in-law, Mrs. Frieda<br />
DETRICK of San Marino, Cal., died Sunday morning. Burial will be in California Wednesday.<br />
Mrs. Detrick was the sister of the late John DAMAS.
