Final rites will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the South Pleasant United Methodist church.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. Charles FRENCH will officiate. Burial will be in the South Pleasant cemetery. Friends<br />

may call at the Sheetz funeral home, Akron, after 1 p.m. Sunday, and until 11 a.m. Monday, and<br />

then at the church one hour before services.<br />

Robert Holloway<br />

Robert “Bert” HOLLOWAY, 84, Mentone, died Saturday a 1:50 p.m. in his home<br />

following a long illness.<br />

Born March 5, 1886, near Mentone, he was the son of David and Anna WARREN<br />

HOLLOWAY. His marriage was July 14, 1908, in Warsaw, to Gertrude HIBSCHMAN, who<br />

survives. A retired farmer and lifelong resident of Mentone, he was a member of the First Baptist<br />

church, Mentone, and the Modern Woodmen of America.<br />

Surviving with the wife are one son, Clayton HOLLOWAY, Mentone; one sister, Mrs.<br />

Della DILLINGHAM, Mentone; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.<br />

Final rites will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the King Memorial home. <strong>The</strong> Rev. Norman<br />

McVEY will officiate. Burial will be in the Mentone cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral<br />

home.<br />

Paul J. Burns, Sr.<br />

Paul J. BURNS, Sr., 71, <strong>Rochester</strong>, died Sunday at 9:45 a.m. in Woodlawn hospital. He<br />

had been ill ten years.<br />

Born Nov. 16, 1898, in Kosciusko county, he was the son of James M. and Nancy Ellen<br />

HALTERMAN BURNS. His marriage was Oct. 6, 1923, in South Bend, to Florence E. FREESE,<br />

who survives. A retired painter, he had lived in the <strong>Rochester</strong> area all his life and was a member<br />

of the First Christian church and the Eagles Lodge, both of <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

Surviving with the wife are one son, Robert F. BURNS, Marion; five grandchildren; two<br />

great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Donald (Kathleen) BUNN and Mrs. Lewis (Mary)<br />

SLOAN, both of Detroit. Three sisters, two brothers and one son preceded in death.<br />

Final rites will be Tuesday at 2 p.m in Zimmerman Brothers funeral home. <strong>The</strong> Rev.<br />

Josef PALAT will officiate. Burial will be in the <strong>Rochester</strong> I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call<br />

at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.<br />

Morgan P. Smith<br />

Morgan Prichard SMITH, 86, <strong>Rochester</strong>, died Sunday at 9:44 p.m. in Woodlawn hospital.<br />

He had been ill two weeks.<br />

Born March 31, 1883, in Ithaca, New York, he was the son of George and Jennie<br />

MORGAN SMITH. Moving to <strong>Rochester</strong> in 1914, he had been employed by the Armour<br />

corporation, <strong>Rochester</strong> street department and the State highway department.<br />

Surviving are one niece, Mrs. James (Donna) O’DELL, R.R. 5, <strong>Rochester</strong>; one nephew,<br />

Jack ADAMS; one great-nephew, and numerous cousins.<br />

Final rites will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Foster & Good funeral home. <strong>The</strong> Rev.<br />

Russell GOOD will officiate. Burial will be in the <strong>Rochester</strong> I.O.O.F cemetery. Friends may call<br />

at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
