Course objectives<br />
To widen the opportunities for access and participation in<br />
the tertiary education system <strong>of</strong> those currently<br />
employed in the business sector;<br />
to provide a re-entry to tertiary study for graduates who,<br />
for whatever reason, would benefit from a more<br />
supportive learning environment;<br />
to provide an entry to postgraduate study for those<br />
people with excellent business experience but no formal<br />
undergraduate qualifications and who, by virtue <strong>of</strong> their<br />
age, experience, work responsibilities and other<br />
commitments, are in practical terms excluded from<br />
undergraduate and TAFE certificate courses; and<br />
to prepare candidates for further postgraduate studies in<br />
business information technology.<br />

will be equipped with suitable skills necessary to<br />
continue with further postgraduate study in business<br />

Entrance requirements<br />
In order to be accepted into this course, applicants should<br />
have:<br />
a recognised undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a<br />
discipline other than computing; and/or<br />
at least five years significant and relevant industry<br />
experience; and/or<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essional experience in a computing environment.<br />

Objectives<br />
To explore the analysis and development processes that<br />
are used in industry to construct computing systems;<br />
to investigate state <strong>of</strong> the art developments in the<br />
computing industry and possible directions in the future;<br />
to examine group processes in organisations, their<br />
interaction with the environment, tasks and structures,<br />
and their management implications.<br />

Graduate Certificate in Taxation<br />
and Finance<br />
This program is a two semester, part-time course. Offered for<br />
the first time in Australia, this unique course will open access<br />
to tertiaw education to a larae number <strong>of</strong> ~ractisina<br />
accountants and managers who, until now, have been<br />
effectively excluded from tertiary education or have had no<br />
involvement in it for some time.<br />
Course objectives<br />
It is expected that, at the completion <strong>of</strong> the course,<br />
candidates:<br />
will be provided with an intensive practical course <strong>of</strong><br />
study in taxation and finance to better equip them to<br />
deal with taxation and finance issues in practice as<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essional taxation, financial and accounting advisers;<br />
will have a recognised qualification which will assist them<br />
in developing their careers in business; and
