Subject aims and description
The course aims to consolidate students' advanced ltalian
language knowledge through advanced grammatical
exercises and the study of appropriate literary works. The
subject will also develop in students an understanding of
contemporary ltaly through the study of ltalian history which
covers the period from the rise of Fascism to present day
Italy.

and Thought

Subject aims and description
This is an interdisciplinary subject which examines writers
who have shaped the European consciousness. It provides
students with the opportunity to study influential works in
20th century European literature and through this to gain an
understanding of some of the main intellectual currents in
western culture.

Subject aims and description
The main objective of this subject is to extend the knowledge
of the ltalian language thus gaining linguistic competence
that will enable students to deal with a wide range of topics
in the written and spoken language.
Through a detailed critical analysis of contemporary
literature, students will be able to develop further their
competence in grammar, vocabulary and idioms.
