her home address, for my father to take her tomorrow when he
visited. Then after several hours on the Internet, I had got
through my list of items I got numbers for from an Argos
catalogue, and what I could not order from their Hoddesdon
store for collection by the next day, I had ordered from their
Harlow store, also to collect with Julie’s car to help, the next
day. One store each had one of the vital computer desk and
matching filing cabinet I had identified from the catalogues as
being the best for my room. The next day, Julie took me to
Hoddesdon Argos, went to the hairdresser in Ware, emerging
nearly two hours later looking very glamorous with highlights
and a haircut and style very similar but less dramatic than one
she had chosen, modelled in a magazine. The trip to Harlow
went as smoothly as the trip to Hoddesdon Argos. There we
also visited Curry’s where I bought a Hi-fi, Comet where I
bought a record deck to match, Homebase where I bought a
new chopping board and some leather table mats and coasters;
and finally I bought her a £19 power supply for her mobile,
which her daughter had given her without one. After a nice
meal and a drink or two Julie suddenly relented on her
apparent resolve that she would wait to have sex with me first
in a hotel or other ‘romantic setting’ as she put it! We have
been having regular sex every two or three nights since – with
her on top, occasionally coming like me, next on top of her.
When I described this as ‘Ladies First!’ we both laughed a lot! I
was up all night building the desk and rearranging the room
around it, and Julie was amazed at the transformation when
she came round, on Friday afternoon, for on the Wednesday I
had ordered a 21” TV, for under £100, that arrived that
morning. Friday afternoon, my mother and father came to a
CPA meeting when my father took over the role from my
mother of my next of kin, for although she was obviously now
back out of hospital, she was too frail to continue the role.
Little did we all know what would happen five weeks later,
when she died – once more back in hospital. Saturday Julie
found a standard lamp in a charity shop that she bought – and
also a nest of tables for me! We watched a good DVD called
‘Closer’ she owned and had an Indian meal at home. On the
Sunday she drove us into Enfield for lunch with her elderly
Father. This was at a local pub, for a lovely roast lunch, and
couple of drinks.
