Wednesday was quiet – preoccupied as above we were, with
chasing up Julie’s Proof of Earnings!
Thursday there were local county council and European
Elections, counted on Sunday, resulting in a huge swing from
the ruling Labour Party, but away to many parties, not just the
main opposition Tories – the Green party gained many votes.
That afternoon, before we voted, Julie took me to Harlow to
buy some vital ink for my printer – just the cyan cartridge was
needed so it would work at all – costing a massive £10.87 –
which had risen 50% over last year’s price, I had been told
thanks to the high value of the Euro against the pound in these
days of the global recession – Epson cartridges are made in
Europe, apparently.
Friday was notable only for my biggest ever win on the lottery -
£100 on a Monopoly scratch-card. Julie at first thought I was
pulling her leg when I started scratching off £5, 10 or even £15
prizes on all 15 sections of this scratch-card, having taken it
with my last £5 spent on it, round to hers! Also to do with
money – she was extremely pleased to receive her first pay
packet from her new employer that day, only £100+ as it was –
what with £126 JSA also arriving the next day, finally she is
earning decent money. From her weekly pay packet next
Friday, she will be able to pay rent and council tax in full – back
to normal working and pay at last for the first time since the
end of September – struggling, and with lots of help from me
and partly her mother in the meantime…
Saturday 6 th June 2009 was incredibly quiet – Julie and I both
lost £3 in lottery entries – I had wasted all of £12 on Friday’s
Euro Millions, egged on by my £100 win that day!
Sunday I typed what I regard as a great long letter to three
agencies and the publisher Piatkus, that I posted with copies of
my main book ‘Scientific Proof’ and my poetry after the former
books arrived just in time today Monday 8 th June, to allow me
to post them off today.
Also today, first I spent half an hour with my Doctor and my
social worker Jemima. Despite my fears that the injection is
