picked out beween us – about 40 – of all the ones we had
taken, mostly me of her topless! Chris had taken a few of us
both on Monday as well, and we had snapped each other in the
Water Gardens in Harlow while shopping. Quite a selection
emerged on the very high quality gloss paper I had bought
earlier, but printing took five minutes per three 6”x4” pictures
per A4 sheet of such paper – as I chose highest quality.
Wednesday started badly, with two severe ‘mental health
intrusions’ – first Chris woke me up yet still came in for an hour
– then Jackie pestered me on the phone about ‘having my
depot tomorrow Thursday in case of stress due to the funeral’
when I had already accepted that my saintlike Mum is now in
Heaven! The final last straw that made me very grumpy and
irritable when Julie called to take me to Matalan at Hertford was
that my two copies of ‘Scientific Proof’ both arrived in the post
from Curtis Brown – with their usual non-commital rejection
notes! ‘Julie Cool’ as I often call her, soon calmed me down,
and I bought a black tie, black suit, cream shirt and a few other
things including a present of an iron for her – she had very
loyally done all my ironing for me since we started going out,
borrowing my own iron as hers was useless. She went home to
prepare spaghetti bolognese for us both for tea, and I shopped
at Tesco. When she phoned my mobile it was to say “supper is
ready!” while I was still there. I was up till three am typing up
the last three weeks of this diary.
Thursday I was supposed to be visited by Jackie at 3pm,
shortly after I woke up after a late night. Meanwhile next door
Julie was finishing off the rest of a large pile of my ironing with
her ‘excellent’ new iron, as she said. However when Jackie was
delayed I went shopping to pay a bill at Barclays, and Tesco,
got back at 4.30pm and rang her, to say I felt fine, and was
very keen to stretch out the dose frequency to four whole
weeks, ‘which always worked for 20 whole years’ I said – so I
wanted to have the depot as late as Friday week. However, I
would give her the invite and directions for the funeral this
Friday, when she came round, and could she take a depot kit
on Monday – just in case I got stressed out which as I said
earlier was extremely unlikely, as I just knew Mum is now
happy in Heaven at long last, after 76 years and counting… I
rang Julie and invited her round for a ‘cooked breakfast
supper’, and she said she would come round with my ironing at
