NO more relationships with 'girls next door'!; - after TWO in the 'Priory Street Posse'!

fully happy at last that ‘in due course’ I will get a response of
some sort very soon now, also after three whole months, to
requests to three old credit card companies to give me a full
assessment of past default charges in the last six years. So at
long last I will be shortly in a position to stop agitating about
how to summarise the more trivial aspects of this book so as
the reader can bear reading it; and actually finish this book.
Book Publishing – of Agents, and turning to try to get
better results on the Internet
My dismissal of ‘literary agents’ as they’ve dismissed me!
It was first some years ago, that after a large mail-shot to
publishers, their replies indicated that the main ones in the
broad ‘religion’ or ‘science and religion’ fields required a literary
agent’s services. I wrote two years ago, to about 80 agents,
but got a totally negative response from all of them, that took
weeks and months to arrive in the post.
So when this January I emailed about 50 relatively suitable
literary agents, and rang about ten other suitable agents with
no email address, it was with little hope. Especially when one
of the phone calls resulted in the lady at the other end
confiding in me: - “The whole book market has been totally
saturated and flat for some years now. For the last six months
it has been totally dead – publishers just are not taking on new
books. Just about your only hope is the Internet!” Indeed of
those 60+ agents, not one seemed initially at all interested. 15
emails and 5 phone calls got no reply at all. 35 politely
declined. Just 6 asked me to write to them instead, so in
desperation I did, also writing to just about the only main
publisher that publishes religious books without asking for an
agent – Piatkus Books. The latter and three agents replied ‘no’
some weeks ago. Curtis Brown answered with a similar pro
forma ‘no’ last Saturday as I write on Monday 16 th March 2009.
So just two more agents have still to reply – but these last
three weeks I have reached a firm conscious decision to hold
out absolutely zero hope! Instead, just as the agent I phoned
advised, I have been thinking of ways to re-launch my
www.silee.me.uk, which started out with 1,000 visits a week
