will arrive soon’ AND he had started the Google Adwords
campaign that was part of the deal. I emailed him back after
my earlier email with all the above problems seemed to have
been ignored, saying there were in fact a lot of problems – and
please STOP the Adwords immediately till they were all fixed. I
went to bed quite stressed out – with no answer yet!
The next day Kumar had taken the website off line and agreed
to fix all the problems – wording immediately and colour
scheme in about ‘1-2 days’ (it took 7 in fact!) However he
insisted that the bookshops were my problem and Lulu’s as
author and publisher! I agreed, and emailed
www.barnesandnoble.com and www.amazon.com, and when
Manuela phoned I was able to tell her everything was OK! Two
boxes arrived by post earlier that day – the long awaited mobile
phone and ‘dongle’ (broadband mobile).
I did not unpack them till the next day, Wednesday. Julie went
off to train for a job with a young man with emphysema who
lived in Hoddesdon, despite her having fainting spells on
Tuesday. I telephoned International Directory Enquiries so I
could give www.amazon.com a phone number for ‘Shauna’ at
Lulu – so I could supply them with write-up’s about my book. I
sent Barnes and Noble a copy of the front cover of my book –
and soon they had the title, cover and description up to date.
When I emailed them next week they equally promptly got the
book off the ‘out of print’ list and back on full sale.
On Thursday I went through the list of replies from search
engines that poured in on the new email address I had added
to my repertoire, following the web-site going live Monday.
Two of them offered cheap search engines submissions, and I
paid a total of £28 or so for both of these – one it claimed to
65,000 search engines! The website had gone back ‘live’
yesterday and Kumar had fixed the wrong wording; added the
second review; and removed the ‘book shop’ links for me while
I talked to the book shops about their entries for my book.
This was in fact nail breaking work with www.amazon.com –
plus I just assumed they would pass on the work to their sister
