NO more relationships with 'girls next door'!; - after TWO in the 'Priory Street Posse'!

Health Matters. I had several medical appointments in this
time. Yet again on Monday 2 nd March I saw my third different
podiatrist. She once more told me a new story or fairy tale
about the ‘thing’ on my left foot – on the sole – that in fact it
was not a verucca as there was no such tissue when she carved
into it! It was in fact, as others had thought before her, a corn
– surrounded by scar tissue. Was the latter from so many
carvings, I thought? On Thursday 5 th , my other appointment
that week, because they were on the surface I had no
anaesthetic for all of four gum fillings at the dentist! Finally
today, Monday 16 th March, I saw my Doctor at Cygnet House (I
was late by ten minutes!) He was delighted with me, and now
only wants to see me every three months not every two as up
to now…
Julie – at long last, an end to her unemployment of five
months now and rising? - and so solvency again?
Julie has hardly worked for FIVE MONTHS and rising!
Julie had only had a handful of days working since 23 rd
September, exactly five months ago since the first day of this
period of the diary, since her client was taken ill then later died
in hospital. She lived off her meagre savings for two months or
so, until they finally ran out and she resigned from her job
where they still had not offered her locally based work despite
all their promises. Shortly after signing on for job seekers’
allowance in early December, she saw an advert in the local
paper from the Government ‘Manpower’ Agency, based at
County Hall in Hertford – and easily passed the interview. That
Monday 23 rd February 2009 she and I fumed lividly, over the
amount of time they had taken to get hold of her Police
Criminal Records Bureau – ‘CRB’ check. Now they had delayed
even longer; the weeks had really mounted up, in securing all
of FIVE YEARS worth of references from past employers. STILL
no sign of her being offered the job!
Finally on the Tuesday I rang her last employers, with the
number I had got from the phone book once before – to be told
they had not even received the letter from Manpower asking for
the reference! In the meantime, on the Monday 23 rd February,
Julie had rung up about another job entirely; she was so fed up
with the massive five month delay by Manpower. Again, she
easily passed the interview as a cook at a local old people’
