3. Credit card charges – progress last week there – and other
financial news. Last week I had an email exchange with
Damian of Allison and Reilly and the upshot is that he has
agreed to send my three £10 cheques and letters of
authority to the three credit card companies to try to preempt
a swifter settlement than otherwise would have
happened had he continued to sit and wait for their reply
to his initial letter. I have meanwhile been anticipating
receiving around a thousand pounds or even more from
this, this month, to add to the clothing I bought for Julie at
Christmas from the Littlewoods catalogue company. This
January they have offered £10 discounts on orders over
£50, and furthermore ‘buy now pay starting February
2010’ offers on orders over £100, and I have made quite a
few strategic purchases free now, fully intending to pay
them off shortly once I get my credit card charge refunds.
So for the whole of January I have received lots of parcels
by delivery man; and sent a few back: -
• Two pairs jog pants and two sheets for Julie; and a skirt
and jeans she asked me to return as unsuitable. She
owes me for these.
• A designer ‘Harrington’ leather jacket (expensive) with
matching pair of jeans and three tee shirts
• A ‘Pierre Cardin’ designer dressing gown in polyester
• A designer ‘Adidas’ tracksuit with two matching tee shirts
• Two goes at buying a dark coloured duvet cover set – both
returned to Littlewoods but I kept the sheets and
pillowcases
• Finally I have gone a bit mad on refurnishing my bed and
getting matching curtains for both lounge windows in a
delightful blue, green and gold ‘ribbon’ pattern on mostly
white background. I have spent £250 on: - 2 duvets, 2
matching duvet covers with 4 pillowcases, 4 pillows, 2 blue
sheets with 2 pillowcases, a throw and 2 shams and 6
scatter cushions! The flat now looks luxurious – cool!
