Indeed as I write on Tuesday 18 th August I just got both
refunds - £57.12 from the literary scam people and £64.97
from the mail order company…
I was like I said still reeling from having been scammed yet
again by a USA Internet outfit – this time a bogus ‘literary
agency’ which really was a bit close to the knuckle! In the last
eight weeks of dealing with them, however, believing I really
had a genuine agent had spurred me on to make substantial
improvements to several books. “Doctor Police!” was now all of
three different books not one. On top of that, several people
down at the Mind Club last week, had thought the new 22
pages of ‘Scientific Proof’ of its Article Seven were ‘brilliant’.
So I recoiled from one bogus ‘literary agent’ and emailed 24
REAL literary agents I found email addresses for, on a useful
website www.ebookcrossroads.com/agents.html that gave their
interests too, with a one pager covering letter, and a copy of
the Article Seven, with the press release and synopsis off my
web site www.silee.me.uk also as an attachment. Finally, that
evening, after making all my autobiographies ‘privately
published’ while revising them recently, I now made them once
more publicly published ‘by Lulu’. I had a really quiet weekend.
I resolved to find email addresses of yet more US or British
literary agents on the Internet on the Monday, and also to
continue spending a little bit on the lottery, just in case of a
substantial prize. US literary agents were my last shot –
beyond them I would need MONEY to self-publicise my books!
