There was no correspondence on Wednesday, and I had a quiet day, so went to the Mind Club that had recently replaced the defunct Rethink Club in the same building. However they refused to buy a set of my books to start a client library! Manuela emailed on Thursday to say that her IT Manager, Kumar, would be in touch soon about the blog option. He finally sent an email two days later, today, Saturday 20 th September, which I have replied to, expecting further contact on Monday. Friday was also quiet. I looked on the Internet and found on the council’s homes site that there was a one bedroom house in a village Julie liked, told her on the phone, and she entrusted me with her waiting list code number so that I could register an interest in it for her. Meanwhile I registered myself, an interest in a ground floor flat in the nearby town. There is a remote chance that we may both be moving at the same time, to become neighbours in a town and village next to each other, not as now next door! Today Saturday I have merely ordered enough books and CVs from www.lulu.com to make up four sets – including one set of proofs. I may be able to sell some of these books – and I plan to give my daughter Jeni the only complete set I possess right at this moment, if and when she calls in to visit me as planned this weekend. I have also done nearly 5½ pages of typing! As we just saw, last Sunday was frantic – but today, a week later, is empty in my diary – apart from a possible visit from Jeni. I feel rather like I am at a watershed – waiting for new and different, unexpected, fewer things to happen, than my list of eleven items of five weeks ago. Some with bated breath. 1. Julie will be back home from work again on Wednesday. Even though we are merely ‘just good friends’ now, I am extremely fond of her and would like more time with her! 2. I had my first decent holiday in SIXTEEN YEARS, for five days not a week with my Father, two weeks ago. 3. The IET Benevolent Fund paid an extremely generous £600 holiday grant into my account the Friday before that. I dare not tell them, but I had to divert £120 into paying up all my outstanding bills – and signed up with Substance Books for $540 (£303+) that day – leaving just £187! 4. Dorrance Books have indeed posted up on the Internet for me, a glowing review of just the main one of my books – the vital one! – ‘Scientific Proof that (God The Holy) Spirit Exists’. 5. I should know the outcome of my appeal over a Community Care Grant within two months or so. 6. www.substancebooks.com have fallen out with me and I have immediately found www.book-promotion.com on Google – 30% more expensive but still extremely reasonably priced – with vastly more ‘bangs per buck’! 7. Ron Upton of the diocesan office was extremely negative on the phone recently, saying he could not possibly sell any copies of my book at his resource centre! 8. The vicar of the Scientists’ Church, that Julie was trying to get a response from, has not done so in three whole months. Much the same rude response by the Church as when I circulated posters round four local chuches at about the same time. Local Churches seem very backward looking indeed – I will not ever bother again! 9. The Christian publisher Christian Focus has had my book “Scientific Proof” since the start of May – nearly five whole months – and I still now await their verdict on publishing it, after promises of an editorial meeting in August were false! I rate my chances of them accepting my books as less than 1 in 1,000! I don’t care – I am going the self publishing route with a budget launch by Book-Promotion! 10. The ‘World Order of Atheists’ still withhold their views on my book – in particular, as is very unlikely indeed, whether it really proves God exists so wins a $100,000 prize!
