In <strong>the</strong> bleak wea<strong>the</strong>r I have received an unprecedented two<br />
cold wea<strong>the</strong>r payments of £25 <strong>in</strong> two weeks, and expect<br />
ano<strong>the</strong>r one this week now that <strong>the</strong>re is a lot of snow on <strong>the</strong><br />
ground. F<strong>in</strong>ally this week I had to reorder my bank card <strong>after</strong><br />
my very dodgy, immature and crazy neighbour Nit persuaded<br />
me to give him <strong>the</strong> details ‘as <strong>the</strong> only way he could get his job<br />
seeker’s allowance’. After that my o<strong>the</strong>r large neighbour<br />
downstairs Terror, came up and accused him at length of ow<strong>in</strong>g<br />
various people lots of money, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g her and me, and even<br />
of steal<strong>in</strong>g all <strong>the</strong> goods of an Indian family <strong>after</strong> he let his flat<br />
out to <strong>the</strong>m, hav<strong>in</strong>g previously let it to an African family! Then<br />
on Saturday 24 th January, determ<strong>in</strong>ed to ga<strong>in</strong> some f<strong>in</strong>ancial<br />
flexibility to help honest Julie, also unemployed, and also to<br />
save money on my loan, I applied for about five credit cards<br />
<strong>with</strong> zero <strong>in</strong>terest balance transfers for long periods. F<strong>in</strong>ally<br />
this Saturday 31 st January a Virg<strong>in</strong> Mastercard <strong>with</strong> £3,000<br />
credit limit arrived! I have already used it <strong>in</strong> a small way for<br />
several purchases – and also asked for £2,000 to at last pay off<br />
my very heavily onerous loan!<br />
4. Jeni. I have only just heard from Jeni today for <strong>the</strong> first<br />
time s<strong>in</strong>ce Christmas. She has been busily re-sitt<strong>in</strong>g her<br />
AS exams and found <strong>the</strong>m much harder than <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>itial set<br />
of papers! She gets <strong>the</strong> results <strong>in</strong> March!<br />
5. Julie and I – back <strong>in</strong> our orig<strong>in</strong>al relationship aga<strong>in</strong>?! Two<br />
weeks ago I helped Julie f<strong>in</strong>ancially while wait<strong>in</strong>g to start<br />
her new job and so get decent <strong>in</strong>come aga<strong>in</strong>, by pay<strong>in</strong>g<br />
her £25 – for iron<strong>in</strong>g a large pile of about 25 of my shirts!<br />
On Wednesday 21 st I gave her £10 for help<strong>in</strong>g me hang<br />
my new curta<strong>in</strong>s – and follow<strong>in</strong>g weeks of kisses on <strong>the</strong><br />
cheek goodbye turn<strong>in</strong>g seductively <strong>in</strong>to pecks on <strong>the</strong> lips<br />
goodbye – f<strong>in</strong>ally she caved <strong>in</strong> and we snogged that night!<br />
We had a meal at a French restaurant <strong>in</strong> Hertford for<br />
which we had a £10 voucher from <strong>the</strong> local paper last<br />
Thursday 29 th , and she is <strong>in</strong>dulg<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>creas<strong>in</strong>g snogg<strong>in</strong>g<br />
and <strong>more</strong> and <strong>more</strong> passionate grop<strong>in</strong>g – while demand<strong>in</strong>g<br />
or seem<strong>in</strong>g to – a dirty weekend before resum<strong>in</strong>g our<br />
orig<strong>in</strong>al relationship <strong>in</strong> full! I have o<strong>the</strong>r, <strong>more</strong> immediate<br />
plans <strong>in</strong>volv<strong>in</strong>g her bed or m<strong>in</strong>e – much sooner!<br />
