afford it she treated them to a snack lunch at work.
I was to be allowed home on leave for some hours next day,
Saturday, after I caught up with Dr Roberts at 5pm that Friday.
I slept from as late as 2am to 11am on Saturday 10 th , caught
the bus at 12.17pm, and downloaded drivers for the ward
computers, as well as for the scanner I now took back and
donated from home. In the time left till 6pm, when I was due
back, I put blonde highlights in Julie’s hair – and she brushed
all the grey in my hair with blonde, which I left on so long it
went gold! We shared a shower and made tentative love for
the last time since I was admitted, and the only time while I
have been in hospital. She said afterwards she would not
consider it again whilst I ‘was in there’…
I went home again the next day and she cooked lunch, I slept
in the afternoon, then sneaked some cables onto the ward
when I went back – in case they were confiscated as
‘dangerous’. I had already used my nail clippers to carefully
snip off loads of tie wraps round the cables behind the two PC’s
on the ward that week, done in a crazy fashion by some safety
freak, ready to work on the two computers. That evening I
tried to plan my finances with inadequate capital in the bank…
Monday 12 th – Sunday 18 th November 2007.
Unlike last week, with weeks of fireworks prior to Monday 5 th
November itself, and some afterwards, the evening sky was at
last quiet this week on my frequent trips outside to smoke in
the freezing cold, often wet shelter just outside the psexistrick
unit. I phoned Npower again and was promised ‘a cheque in
the post’. I ordered bits for the computers at Mymms Ward
from www.ebuyer.com and also ordered a software licence from
a Californian company called www.argentsolutions.com for a
package called Turbodial 6.0 that supposedly speeded up dial
up 19.6 times by use of a server and clever compression and
packet elimination software at both ends. Julie and I went to
Tesco at Hatfield Olding’s Corner and I bought instant coffee
