NO more relationships with 'girls next door'!; - after TWO in the 'Priory Street Posse'!

Monday 2 nd – Monday 24 th February 2009. The coldest,
bleakest winter for years continued, with over three inches of
snow on the first night of this section of my diary, Sunday 1 st
February, followed by a further heavy fall of three inches on the
Monday. Reports said all airports were closed, no London
buses ran, and road and rail were disrupted across the whole
country by the snow. I have yet to print the pictures I took
from my flat that first white morning, with white buildings and
grass and trees – and youths having a vigorous snowball fight
in the park opposite! A cold rain or rather drizzle then set in,
causing slush with the resulting slow thaw. That is the
backdrop as again I summarise this three weeks in several
main headings below: -

Agents take a long time to reply to approaches! It has
been three months since the launch of my www.silee.me.uk site
on November 4 th 2008, which happened to be US Election Day,
so I will quickly now summarise its ups and downs to now. In
the first two weeks there were 1,000+ visits a week, which was
very promising, then for a devastating whole five weeks in
which I was totally unable to get any support from www.bookpromotion.com,
this suddenly plummeted to 100+ visits a
week. Just when Manuela of Book Promotion ltd got in touch
and lamely wrote off the second tranche of £198 I owed them
as a goodwill gesture, as Christmas approached I once more
saw 1,000+ visits a week – for just two weeks – meanwhile I
thanked her and said goodbye to her company, convinced this
trend was to be permanent.
As a result I was getting 50 very interested visitors a week –
my advertising campaign to an unknown audience having what
I was told was a classic direct marketing ‘bounce rate’ of 95%
or so – only 5% of viewers showing any interest, and looking
beyond the home page or staying more than one minute on the
site! After Christmas and for the whole of January this stayed
halved at 500 or so visitors a week – and Lulu first reported
then actually paid me for, sales of a hardback copy of my
poems and both one download and one paperback of the main
book. In January, realising that really this was no smash hit of
330
