NO more relationships with 'girls next door'!; - after TWO in the 'Priory Street Posse'!

elaborate venture in Internet marketing, while yielding an
excellent website that was valuable in its own right, was never
going to launch the book like it would be launched by a
publisher in actual real bookshops! Yet at the suggestion of
Reverend Simon Manley-Cooper, in the course of the second
half of last year I had tried everything that he suggested –
waiting months for all six top UK Christian bookshops to reply –
to say an emphatic ‘no!’ in each case. Once that failed, his
second suggestion of emailing the Alpha Course, the Baptists
and Methodists websites has also all failed. Now he had
dismally failed to reply to several phone messages over
Christmas that I had left. Besides, my final thought two years
ago had been that approaching publishers was a waste of time
– so many wanted an approach only from a literary agent not
an author.
My brainwave was that my book was in its best ever shape, and
now I had a website, vitally containing not my own comments
on my book, as my entire previous website ventures had, but
the structured remarks of a completely independent third party
reviewer. At first I mentioned to Julie that I planned to wait
some months to buy a load of my own books to send off to
agents, but soon realised this was too vague – and wasteful
and expensive – for most of them would not be interested.
Soon I had composed the email letter below, and emailed all 46
agents in my new ‘Writer’s Handbook 2008’ that had email
addresses but vitally did not say they rejected email
attachments – for I attached the entire manuscript and my
