NO more relationships with 'girls next door'!; - after TWO in the 'Priory Street Posse'!

I felt very depressed about all of: - ongoing long term (16
years now!!!) lack of a publishing breakthrough; my daughter’s
future; Julie’s frustration and appallingly low pay at work; my
own frustration over years of never having any cash either,
which I was why I still persevered at trying to start a career as
an author. So I had a short sleep that afternoon – and felt
better.
On Thursday it was ever so quiet. I had an email from David
Higham Associates saying my books were indeed there, after
all. So I telephoned Curtis Brown again, but they still had no
record of my books on their log.
On Friday I had yet another parcel of books returned with a
bland pro forma letter – this time my Manifesto was returned
by the publisher Piatkus. I had had no reply from Lulu to my
email of over a week ago – so faxed them. I checked my web
site visitor figures for the first time in ages. http://silee.me.uk
had had about 1,000 human visitors last month and
http://maam.org.uk had had about 500. I needed to know
quite urgently whether my account being on ‘payment hold’
meant that the Lulu page on the web actually showed sales.
The fax got no response, so next day, Saturday, I emailed lulu
support. I also ordered three copies of my poetry and two
copies of ‘Scientific Proof’ as my stocks of both were low.
On Sunday three police cars appeared outside in the morning,
and there was a drugs raid on my new neighbours next door,
who were out! Jeni called in as arranged, as agreed we just
chatted without discussing her A level exams or career plans –
then for the first time in years she let me take a couple of
photos of her outside in the garden!
Monday was very quiet indeed – I just recorded in my diary
having a regular meeting with Jemima my social worker –
resumed now that James had qualified and left that office…
