2. Shannon Neal of www.somehits.com has replied to my
emails now the weekend is over. She told me she had
pinpointed the problems to her server – and the URL
where the website was now working. I soon logged on to
find that her visitor figures were 12%-15% higher than
mine and emailed her about this. She said her supplier of
adverts for websites generally supplies ‘10%-20% more
visitors than bought’ – and they would all be supplied as
promised in the original 30 days specified! That is the
traffic should all be delivered by Sunday 19 th April – or so.
In the meantime I really hope to see some sales figures in
real time on the Lulu site www.lulu.com for ‘real time’
results for sales direct from that site resulting from the
100,000 visitors. As I said before, at the start of January
and February there were sales figures available for
December and January respectively – but no report in
March, so no sales in February. I will hope to see another
report in early April for the month past of March, when I
really am hopeful – especially now I am getting 2,500
visitors a day or more via www.somehits.com – of sales in
March.
3. Meanwhile the ITIN department should get my letter.
Hopefully: -
• They have no rules saying they cannot phone me as
requested
• They phone with the good news that they got my driving
licence
• Hopefully they can give me my ITIN number over the
phone at last, or post it immediately with my driving
licence
• That way if there are indeed any book sales this month, I
will be able to send Lulu the right US IRS form and avoid
any US Tax of 30%!
4. My letters to Citi cards about a possible balance write off,
and a similar letter to Barclaycard with another about
refunding default charges that were unfair, were dated
17 th February – so sent five whole weeks ago. The banks
normally luxuriantly allow themselves 40 days to reply to
such ‘technical’ letters, I have been reliably informed – so
361
