NEW TIRE CARRIER
TTHIS tire carrier eliminates all straps,
lugs and nuts, and uses nothing but
a lever to operate it.
The attachable set is adapted for cars
that are provided with a fellow-band for
the purpose of carrying one tire only.
This set can be attached to the fellowband
by means of three bolts. The nuts

being counter sunk when drawn up tight,
the end of the bolt is riveted into the
counter sunk portion of nut, making it
absolutely safe. In placing tires on or
off of the tire carrier the only operation
necessary after unlocking the padlock is
to pull down the lever, wdiich raises the
shoe at the bottom, permitting the tires
to be taken off. When placed on the
carrier, throw the lever in position, which
clamps the shoe at the bottom on to the
rim of the tires. Placing a padlock in
the lever ami right bracket prevents any
one from releasing the lever. It is impossible
for the lever to open through
any jar on the road, as when closed the
expanding bar is thrown slightly beyond
the center.
The standard set is adapted for cars
not provided with a fellow-band and
takes the place of the usual carrier using
clips and straps. The operation of this
is the same as the attaching set, and this
also applies to the heavy type of carrier.

SHUTTERS FOR AUTO RADIA­
TORS
T" 1 11E shutter is in style on one type of
car now, in place of the curtain.
When you want to regulate the air current
and heat in the motor, don't get out
and pull down the radiator cover. Stay
in the car, and push a button. This
closes or opens the shutter to any width
desired.
The shutter operates just exactly as a
window shutter, and prevents air from
flowing through the radiator cells, so
that the engine may be warmed quicker
and may be kept warm after stopping.
This new shutter costs $15.00. A
motometer from wdiich to regulate the
shutter is obtainable with it.
