Kitchen Boiler Serves as Diving
Helmet
The remarkable home-made diving
helmet illustrated herewith is made
of one end of an ordinary kitchen
boiler notched to fit the shoulders
of a man, and weighted with
chain. Using an ordinary duplex
auto pump it is possible for a man
using this helmet to stay down
fifteen minutes at a depth of 30
feet. There is no window in the
helmet, but this is no special hard­
ship inasmuch as the outfit is used
in the East River, New York, where
the silt and sewage render the sense
of sight useless.

Adjustable Radiator Foot-Rest
With this new radiator foot rest devised by Ellis N. Webb,
Geneva. New York, it is possible to dry one's feet as easily
as in an oven and without the likelihood of getting burned.
Che rest has a T-shaped arm that is slipped in between the
radiator pipes, then turned from a vertical to a horizontal
position where it acts as a brace that holds securely the
resl in extended position in front of the radiator. When
not in use the foot rest can be raised and a hook engaged
over the upper portion of the radiator, thus holding the
device securely against the radiator.

For the man who has learned to shoot
a rifle or shotgun from the right shoulder,
and who is forced by circumstances
to use his left eye for sighting, this
contrivance has been marketed.
