A BOX CAR GENERAL STORE
In the heart of an Arkansas pine forest, five miles from any other mercantile establishment, stands this
odd general store. It has been manufactured from a cast-off railway freight car. On its four hundred
square feet of floor space may be found all commodities, from hairpins to mule feed, that are likely to be
desired by lumberjacks and their wives.
Body Armor of Today
The coat of mail which the
knight of chivalry used to
wear has been greatly improved
for the modern soldier
in a modern suit of
armor which is so constructed
that it presents an
armor face for all parts of
the body at an angle of
from 90 to 115 degrees to the
line of fire. Thereby, in
many instances, stray
shrapnel, rifle bullets, and
bayonet thrusts are deflected.
The head piece,
the body portions, and the
upper and lower leg portions
of the armor are
hingedly connected to each
other so as to permit free
movement.
