This novel tester consists of an
ordinary Christmas tree electriclight
socket, a globe to fit the
same, and a pair of wires which
come attached to the socket and
lead from the negative and the
positive poles.
To test the battery, the opposite
ends of the wires are placed
one against each terminal of the
battery. The moment the circuit
is completed the light flashes,
the power of the flash showing
the operator just how near the
battery is to being run down.
The "dead" battery, naturally,
will make no light. To make
the device more convenient for use, the
pin at the back of the socket may be
buried in a block or other small piece of
wood. Globes to this tiny light cost
about ten cents each.
