going after one of your cherished
and tender wisdom teeth?
Well, the secret is out! Here
is a student at the New York
Dental Infirmary, getting a little
experience on a dummy
patient.
Testing an Aeroplane in a 75-Mile Gale

The Washington Navy Yard I as now a wind tun­
nel, where by means of huge fans and a 500 horse­
power motor a regular hurricane can be generated
if desired. In this tunnel the models of aeroplanes
under consideration for use in Government service
are tested out.
Training Out Aviators in
Night Flying
As a preliminary to the training
of airmen in night flying there has
been erected at the Mineola, Long
Island, flying field a wooden stand
which mounts three searchlights
and twelve flood-lighting lamps, the
latter being of the same type as
those employed in the illumination
of building exteriors. The floodlights
are intended to cast a path
of light across the flying ground, so
that the airmen can find the field
and safely alight at night. The
searchlights, two of which are of
the portable trench t>pe and the
remaining one a 36-inch type, are
intended for picking up hostile
craft. Aside from training the
Army aviators in flying and alighting
at night, it is planned that the
men will be taught nocturnal battling
in the air.
